We keep hearing that young men are failing to adapt to contemporary life. Their financial prospects are impairedearnings for 25- to 34-year-old men have fallen by 20 percent since 1971. Their college enrollment numbers trail women's: Only 43 percent of American undergraduates today are men. Last year, women made up the majority of the work force for the first time. And yet there is one area in which men are very much in charge: premarital heterosexual relationships.
[snip]
What many young men wish foraccess to sex without too many complications or commitmentscarries the day. If women were more fully in charge of how their relationships transpired, we'd be seeing, on average, more impressive wooing efforts, longer relationships, fewer premarital sexual partners, shorter cohabitations, and more marrying going on.
Instead, according to the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (which collects data well into adulthood), none of these things is occurring. Not one...
To better understand what's going on, it's worth a crash course in "sexual economics"...
[snip]
Yes, sex is clearly cheap for men. Women's "erotic capital," as Catherine Hakim of the London School of Economics has dubbed it, ... can't assure her love and lifelong commitment. Not in this market. ...Michelle, a 20-year-old from Colorado, said ..."I had an ex-boyfriend of mine who said that, um, he didn't know if he was ever going to get married because, he said, there's always going to be someone better." [snip]
And yet while young men's failures in life are not penalizing them in the bedroom, their sexual success may, ironically, be hindering their drive to achieve in life. Don't forget your Freud: Civilization is built on blocked, redirected, and channeled sexual impulse, because men will work for sex. Today's young men, however, seldom have to.

“The only difference between free sex and prostitution is that free sex is ultimately more expensive.” -— Clemenza’s dad
He was a cutie when he was Detective Logan in "Law & Order," and also in "The Rough Riders," where he played a scion of the Wadsworth family. But he aged BAD.
I hate myself for knowing this stuff.
Sexual addictions abound in the world...if anyone reading this would like to be free of there enslavement...go to fhu.com and download the Be still and know exercise. It is truly a miracle.
If he wants to stay rich, he'll let somebody else pick up the litter.
Enjoy! The photographer got an excellent focus on the claws.
This common line displays a deprecatory perception of men.
It's not so flattering of women either.
Of course, like stereotypes, it is a common line because there is a grain of truth in it.
Yep bingo. Any intelligent young male knows not to take an American lady seriously. My older brother is happily married to a Mexican woman.
I notice that in quite a few responses there is a lot of "woe is me I am a poor abused victim" from several males.
Whining and playing the victim is not attractive. However, since most of them whine how everybody is picking on them while at the same time claiming that they are not whining, it can be amusing.
We all have a a fallen nature, but we can choose to aim higher, or we can excuse ourselves, imagining we're just apes.
***** “Cheap women are like cheap beer, and Ive never had a taste for either.” ******
Odd.... I noticed that too! I have found that Cheap Beer and Cheap women are often found at the same location.
Some days are Diamond.. Some days are Gold .. others are spent at the Tavern.

The irony is that womens liberation ended up liberating men instead.

only the ones that don’t want kids.
I find some inconsistency: there’s lots of railing about “feminism” from men, and yet the laws and customs they dislike were enacted or accommodated by men. The laws particularly: men vastly outnumber women as legislators and judges.
There’s a very common complaint that men, and particularly husbands/fathers, are negatively portrayed in tv programs and commercials, and yet, men never need to watch these things. I don’t. The only time I see commercial television is in the doctor’s waiting room, and I always have some schoolwork preparation or correspondence with me so I don’t have to look.

Mouser?
Very true. It is sad that that common line is common. It doesn't have to be.
The relentless propaganda tells us we are just another animal, the hairless ape, and too many have bought the lie.
All people have to do is exercise their free will to choose to be men and women.
You’re on. Thanks.
***** “Hmph!! For us older guys, sex is INCREDIBLY expensive!” ******
Not to mention over rated
Separated 3 years and still paying ... Inflation is defiantly a reality in my world.
Having kids on the other hand is worth it... Grand kids are Priceless!

“his process worked pretty well to transform the people of North Africa, Asia Minor, the Middle East, Central and much of South and Southeast Asia, Malaysia and Indonesia (most populous of all Muslim countries) from non-Muslim to Muslim, in only 1000 years.”
I actually believe the dominance comes largely from oil wealth, and is more recent, like the last hundred years.
It is true you get more throw away soldiers; however, your population does not grow that way.
I do not mean to underestimate the Muslim threat. I just don’t want to overstate it either. They have plenty of problems. Their victory will largely depend on our weakness; not their strength.
You have zeroed in on something I have found to be very true and that is your attitude depends on what and who you surround yourself with. I have work aquaintentences that complain all the time about their spouse. When it starts I either leave or calmly announce that I do not care to hear it and would they please change the subject.
I find that if I don't just the act of listening to their negativity makes me regard my own beloved husband more critically. He does not deserve that so I make sure I do not bring that filth home. Not to mention that it always turns into a game of "topper" as each person sings their song of woe.
Guys who hang around other guys who are moaning and complaining about their wives, girl friends and women in general are going to take it out on the women in their lives. The women will strike back, which will of course confirm that all women are evil and men are poor downtrodden pitiful things. They will take that back to their friends and wallow in their victim-hood status which will keep the cycle going.
This by the way is not confined to guys, gals play the same song just in a different note.
We would all be much happier if we would just stop.
I believe that Paul said it best in Philippians 4:8
