New fossil evidence seems to confirm that a key ancestor of ours could walk upright consistently - one of the major advances in human evolution.
The evidence comes in the form of a 3.2 million-year-old bone that was found at Hadar, Ethiopia.
Its shape indicates the diminutive, human-like species Australopithecus afarensis had arches in its feet.
Arched feet, the discovery team tells the journal Science, are critical for walking the way modern humans do.

Yes, I do read them but when the poster can´t differentiate between when an article is discussing Lucy (the indivudual fossilized remains) and Lucy (as applied generically to the species), it gets kinda difficult.
OK, whatever, it´s all just a big conspiracy.
No its not, its called desperation. Reasonable people can observe that.
OK, a desperate conspiracy.
Walking on two feet wasn't an advance, having to two free hands to wield weapons was. That combined with envy led to murder then tribal warfare, which is essentially the modulated evolutionary pressure that drives human brain development while leaving all other animals untouched. If it wasn't for envious leftists always trying to take our stuff we would still be eating grubs from a stick.
mmmmmmmmm grubs on a stick.
fair enough
The article makes no such differentiation, speaking of “Lucy” and then A afarensis, then “Lucy and her kin” and “Lucy’s spine”, “her hips”....back and forth, so my comments about “Lucy” (singular) are quite correct. Thanks.
Sure they are.
You’re right, they are. It’s the result of actually reading an article before commenting. Easy.
Yeah and that only shows that God uses what works, it doesn’t come close to proving the “lucy” anthropology line..
I henna feeling someone would beat me to it. :’)

Wow! They might have been good for something after all!
Once. A long time ago.
(Him not you, Bert)
You got some ‘splainin’ to do.
This fossil proves that Lucy was an archetype............
Yeah, but only when she was Jung...
Isn’t interesting, if a creationist cited such flimsy evidence, that person who be belittled and ridiculed. But an evolutionist can cite the same evidence and be lauded as brilliant!
