I had to reset my Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router. I upgraded the Firmware to version 2.21.1 no problem. I followed the instructions and my network appears as one of the available networks in range (max strength 5 bars!) I click it to connect and as it attempts to acquire the address it say "Limited or no connectivity" I think whatever's wrong is something simple; I suspect it has something to do with the IP Address; I am using the default IP Address 192.168.1.1 Any suggestions appreciated. I may not respond back quickly as my alternate connection is spotty.
The limited message sounds like a windows message. You can get that if you can connect to your router, but the router is not talking to thie net.
Check you DSL/Cable modem and then make sure your router is talking to your ISP.
Are you running any firewall software? If so, it may need to be reset to recognize the new router configuration.
Have you verified that it is acquiring an address from your DSL/Cable modem? If the router doesn’t get a ISP IP address you’ll get that message and will not be able to surf the internet.
On a related note, look into using an Open Source firmware on your 54G and unlock more features. Both Tomato and DD-WRT are good choices and of course free.

Have you tried calling Bombay?
Login to the router via your browser using the address 192.168.1.1. Default password is admin. No User name is needed.
Check out your status first to see if it's connected to the internet. If it isn't, turn off your DSL or Cable Modem and your router. Leave off for about 20 seconds, turn on the modem first and let it come ready. Then turn on the router, let it come ready and give it another try.
Check you DNS settings.

No, "limited or no connectivity" means that your laptop or whatever isn't able to get a local IP address from the router.
Check the IP address of the laptop (I presume you know how) -- if it's not 192.168.1.X, then you don't have a local IP address you can use. 192.168.1.1 is the local address of the ROUTER -- it shouldn't be assigned to the laptop.
I can't tell you exactly why you are having the problem without more information, but I suspect it is because you configured the router with a secure wireless network and have mis-entered the key on the laptop. Sometimes, that's how it manifests the error.
First - power off your DSL modem, then the linksys box... then, power up the DSL modem - wait for about 2 minutes to make sure it’s up - then power up the linksys box.

I do have to wonder why you upgraded the firmware on your WRT router. Was there a specific problem that you needed to fix or was it a case of "Oh, an update, shiny...."?

Time to get a new router. I really like the Linksys E1000. It was $60 and it is much faster then the old router. Very easy to setup also.
Make sure all the lights are ON the cable router that connects to wireless purple model. If the lights are not ON =no connect. If lights are On check cable connect. Then see if works with plug in. If that works. You then have a problem to solve in purple wifi device. I have this same one. Then try next step.
