Awesome! That looks like our Farmer’s Markets around here. I hope to be selling at one in the future. Very inspiring: what BEAUTIFUL produce! Why people don’t fall in love with this stuff is beyond me.

Addictive ‘food porn’ if you ask me, LOL!

Those squash look lovely and mouth watering, mine won't be ready for another month. My daughter, who works as a Chef in a Very Upscale Camp in Maine introduced a bunch of Foreigners to Yellow Squash, Zucchini, Onions, and garlic sauteed in Olive oil and butter, well received.

'Autumn Beauty' sunflowers. Volunteers! I love volunteers!

A coral-pink Zinnia from a Jung's assortment.

'Bonica' Rose. This thing is abused, mistreated, ignored, denied...and still it blooms and blooms. Hey! Kinda like me, LOL!

My 'Grace' Smokebush. Leafing out nicely, getting ready to have huge pink, puffy plumes on her in a few weeks. You know...for someone who doesn't like PINK, I sure have enough PINK stuff in my garden, LOL! Those three hydrangea in the lower left are 'Quick Fire.' They start out white, then turn...wait for it...PINK!

“I’m mentoring some FReepers over on the nascar thread...”

I HOPE you mean you’re ‘schooling’ them, LOL!

You’re either NASCAR, or you ain’t. It’s pretty simple, LOL!

Hey! That would make an awesome slogan/logo for NASCAR. I’m copyrighting that right this minute over at LegalZoom.com, LOL!

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. I stayed up late last night making dill pickles, and woke up late. It was too late to go to our farmers market-it is usually sold out by about 8:30 am.

The dang squirrel got the rest of my tomatoes, and managed to get the bait in the trap without springing the trap. Dang nab it.

Weather report has called for rain almost every day this week. We got a little sprinkle for a little while one afternoon, but at least the heat abated. Now the temps are climbing and still no rain. Sigh. We still have lettuce, getting lots of cukes, a moderate amount of green beans, but really craving some good tomatoes. It looks like we may get some blackberries any day now. Smile. Quite a few are ripe, but most are still red. Hubby won't take the nets off until there are more to pick.

Happy Independence Day everyone!

Beautiful weather here in East Central Mississippi. Not a cloud in the sky with the sun still below the horizon with a nice yellow to pink sky turning to light blue and it is a beautiful cool 63 degrees. High to be 90F today!

Happy Fourth, back to ya, Red. 76 degrees here, headed for 90 with rainshowers, as usual. A bit cooler than the 92-94 of last week.

Remember the reason for the holiday. May America remain free.

Thanks. I am mixing up 20 gallons of MG with a little Epsom salt added in 5 gal buckets and will hand water my garden this morning.

Picked a couple of okra yesterday - they were quite large. I decide to fry them up and they were so tough I could not eat them.

I have a couple of Acorn squash plants that are producing nicely most of the squash are still small and pale green but I have one that has turned dark green. Thess plants look exactly like zuke plants. How do I know when to pick them?

If the acorn squash has gone to dark, dark green and the side that’s been on the ground is orange, then it’s time to pick them. The stemm where attached to the ‘vine’ will be turning brown and drying up, too.

Bottom side is a pale yellow on that acorn squash. I will waite and check it in a few days.

Every morning when I check my zukes and acorn squash the honey bees and bumblebees hovering and flying around it that ecosystem under those huge leaves get excited and take off for my pepper, eggplant and okra plants. Life is good!

Bumblebees have been a ‘garden-saver’ the past few years, but I have actually seen a few HONEYBEES this season...
