Today is my 45th birthday, and I am feeling the effects from all that canned beer last night! Woohoo!
One of my ancestors berewed some of the first beer in New York City and had the first tavern...
Red Lion Beer...
Several of my early ancestors had taverns...
Guess it was a family business...
A truly great date in history!
Any rexcuse to have a brew works for me. But I drink beer out of bottles.
My brother was a beer can collector. I used to help him in his endeavors. He had a nice display over the head of his bed. One night, the whole thing came crashing down.
I never drank much beer but the best mass-produced beer I can ever remember drinking was Heileman’s Old Style.
Neighborhood Chicago watering holes always had the great Germanic looking Old Style sign displayed outside;
I don’t know how to post pictures, otherwise I would.
Maybe that guy Joe Pro Bono would........
there’s lots on Google images/
I think Old Style was strictly MidWestern beer, though.

In college on my floor, we had a beer closet where we collected all the empties. We filled it up in about a month. It was full of what we could afford... Milwaukee Best, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Keystone. HEY! After the first 6 you don’t really care what you drink anyway.
BTW, most didn’t get rinsed out before storage... Filthy animals that we were.
My granny used to say it tasted better in glass. But then, my mom used to say it sounded better on vinyl.
beer in a can club ping
Canned beer has been around for 75 years and they still can’t make it taste nearly as good as the bottled stuff. [Let alone draft beer.]
