Andrew Garcia
Hannah Montana convinces him to give up the guitar this week and just "work the crowd".
The result: Disaster.
He sings Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine". He's accompanied by a guy playing bass and three female backup singers.
Schlocky. It's almost as cheesy and gimmicky as Urban's performance. But not quite.
Randy: Oh, dog, man. It wasn't good, man. Wrong song choice. Just didn't work.
Ellen: Not enough to get a bunch of people on board [to vote for you]. Not a good song choice at all.
Kara: You're chasing that moment (Straight Up) and it's messing with your head. That's not you. That swagger?? You have to go back to that moment when you did Straight Up and blah, blah, blah (Andrew is a one-trick pony)
Simon: Maybe we just over-rated that moment in hindsight. The arrangement was horrific. You sucked the soul out of that song. Sucked it out and tortured it (LOL) You don't know who you are as an artist.
Andrew gives Simon some really intense drive-by eyes.

Apparently he said he'd go to Costa Rica if Obamacare passed?
As usual, they got it wrong - he said he's go there for his health care, not that he'd move there. Nice of them to offer to help with his travel expenses, though.

The people still on the show, who are only mildly talented, are being advised by someone who appeals to a small % of the population. No wonder they’re all doing so badly. This is absolutely the worst year ever and Simon is right to bail.
