Season 8 Premiers on SUNDAY NIGHT, January 17 with a TWO hour opening episode at 9 Eastern.
On Monday night we are treated to ANOTHER two hour episode again starting at 9 Eastern.
Hard to tell which way this episode will swing...back to the tough as nails UN-PC style or will we get more handwringing and Islamo-Gaia Love like last year?
Here's a little feature from the 24 website

This season starts off in NYC with Jack trying to establish a 'normal' life with his daughter. But...some stuff goes down at the UN and "that's when the day starts to go wrong" as Jack puts it...
Wow, you’re good!!
Just wait till Dana gets outed, Freddie will become bigger and better than Jack Bauer. Do you realize he has more kills so far than Jack does?
Doesn’t really count...thread dead at that hour...!! But I got one!!
The guy getting arrested is not Hassan’s brother.
They guy getting arrested has a brother in Iran, oops, I mean the Islamic Republic, who has been arrested in connection with the assassination attempt. Hassan just wants him arrested because of his brother back in the Islamic Republic.
Other than Jack, Freckles and Chloe, I'm having a tough time caring what happens to any of these people...although I'm starting to like Freddie.
Yeah, his speech about what power was and means in his country was inspired. I wish more Americans would understand the culture of the Middle East and why playing Mr. Nice Guy is a good way to stir up resentment.
I dunno about this season. It’s like the writers were on nyquil or something. Maybe it will pick up as time goes, but the first few seasons were never this slow. They had a way of making that hour slip by before you realized it. Last night I found myself checking the clock to see how long before Damages started.
It has opened as a series of "chick flicks".
Someone—on this thread or another— mentioned that this could be the last season. Maybe it’s indeed time to let it go. Pity. It was once one of the best.
Jack’s G’daughter is running around and talking in sentences, so that might give a time line. Is this the prez’s first or second term?
Oh man, I'm not ready for that.
This still the best show on tv.
Agreed. Not every season can be a “10” sometimes you get a 7 or 8.
More seasons of 24 FOX, please!
Russian dad doesn’t have long to live. Oldest Russian son just saw his brother killed in cold blood. If I was him, I would know I’m next and dad would get two taps in the back of the head ASAP.
Same with Starbuck...she knows she’s going to get screwed by her boyfriend. Would anybody miss him if he turned up dead? I don’t think so.
Thanks... I’m computer illiterate...
LMAO....best line of the entire thread.
I agree... that one's gonna be Hard to Top..... ;-)
Please add me to your ping list. I’m a 24aphile, but just now caught up thank goodness for Hulu. Reading Freeper comments is almost as much fun as watching the show. This is the best season ever, I don’t care what anyone says. Most interesting foreign head-of-state character ever, same old Jack albeit slightly softer. New, edgier Freckles (will she become a Nina as someone else suggested?), not too crazy about the same old president, but who says we need a likeable president?
The old 24 was alot of action w/a little romance thrown in. This is alot of romance w/a little action thrown in.
Time to turn it around. Jack's kill ratio is waaaaaaaaaaaa down
ping for later reading
Has Rush Limbaugh commented on this season’s version of 24? If so, what is he saying?
So far, I’m a bit disappointed with the show this season.
