Favre *may* be the best, ever. Y’know, until the next best ever. I remember his first Super Bowl appearance (you probably do as well), playing against Elway, whom I always kinda disliked for little reason, and yet was rooting for. Elway got has butt handed to him in his first Super Bowl, and it took him the rest of his career to get back there. And then go the next year.
Favre looked like he was all done, with just flashes of brilliance, rapid-fire assaults on defenses, come-from-behind drives moving the ball the length of the field, and yet it wasn’t enough, or wasn’t enough of it.
IMO, he’s playing better ball right now than he has in years, although I’m pretty sure a lot of people think so. I don’t think they’ve got quite enough of a team to go all the way. Having an unbeaten team in both conferences is interesting, particularly this late in the season. It’s difficult enough to do for just one team, but having two suggests we’re heading for a battle of unbeatens.
Or at least, that’s what a lot of people would like to see — assuming they’ve got no dog in the hunt. :’)
Dunno about Farve being the Best ever. But he’s sure playing well now. I’m sure he’s happy to be able to be able to hand off to Adrian. He doesn’t have to carry this team. The Vikings D allowed 11 inches per rush last week verses the Seahawks. Awesome. He doesn’t have to force balls to receivers this year. I’ll bet he’s the happiest qback in the NFL right now. All he has to do is not lose the game. I must admit that 2 unbeatens in the SB would be interesting. Doubt that’s the scenario though... I’ll bet the pats crush the Aints this week, and the Colts are on borrowed time.
The Pats lost to the Colts, and as some wag pointed out, Bellicheck was a much better coach when he used to cheat. The NFL is so lopsided this season, moreso than usual, that most divisions appear to hold little suspense. As the season grinds on, all teams suffer at this or that position, so, no, I don’t think so. The Saints haven’t had a close game all season (oddly, except vs the Rams) though the Pats are playing better ball now than they were, my guess is, they’re gonna be mauled.
Interesting! The more we find out, the less we know for sure.
