We sure did get a load of snow this winter! Winters started getting bad in 2005 and this one was the worst.

Cold came early as did snow and we broke monthly precip and temp. records nearly every month since then.

It even snowed a bit last evening at dinner! The nerve.

It’s still running cold, about a month behind, but we’ve had 3 sunny days and people are happy again.

; -)

I googled TexMex shredded chicken and came up with all kinds of ideas what to do with it. Sounds GREAT with noodles, smothered with cheese, and baked for 20 to 25 minutes!

Lori, my best friend had a self contained RV, and we decorated it up to the hilt, with everything matching (including window coverings, throw pillows, and bedspreads for the two double beds. We even covered the wastebaskets with the same (rose) material.

She and I and another friend (The Three Muskateers) bought our dogs on the same day, from the same litter, and all our dogs were raised, with the comforts of home surrounding them! They LOVED going into the RV!

GOOD MILITARY MONDAY TO AMY’S PLACE

The Soldier’s Code

1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.

3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.

5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.

6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.

For All The Cat~People Of Amy's Place

Games

Mother likes to contantly put me through many tests
Because when it comes to teaching, Mother is the best!
Whether it is learning to take my very first leaps or to climb
Mother is more than very generous with her knowledge and time

Even though right now, I don't think I'll match her fluid grace
We are both wise enough to know that learning has a pace
Mostly achieved through many attempts at Trial and Error
An occasional pause to think things through makes the challenge fairer

With a change of attack from Straight On to a touch of finnesse
Might take a bit more time and effort for a well earned success
Especially when clibing Curtains to be relished when one's small
For if Mother were to attempt now, there'd be a loud and noisy fall

So, I'll stick with pleasures closer to home and to the shiny floor
Like tunneling through narrow passages where there hardly is a door
To slowly sneak up on Mother with silent feline guile and wit
And tap her on the shoulder to smile and shout, "Tag. You're it!"
