What a joke the UN is. Once again the UN proves to be ineffective as Isreal and Hamas continue to ignore them.

Illinois House impeaches Gov. Blagojevich

Like him or not, I offer prayers for Patrick Swayze who has pneumonia and is battling pancreatic cancer.

I feel like I’m in another place, not the real world, or that which I am accustomed.
It’s all like a really bad dream.

Hoping weather cooperates!

I keep shaking my head as well.

Something good has got to come out of this, but for the life of me I don't know what.

I am thankful for our faith in God, cause we're gonna need it.

Shorts and tee-shirts here too NY. Although I think the weather is to turn cooler in the next day or so. Jeans and jackets then.

:^)

We were with friends last night, and one of the discussions involved what was causing one of them incessant coughing and breathing difficulties.
Doc has decided it’s acid reflux and prescribed meds for that.
Will let you know if it works.

The SS thing kills me. The politicians in D.C. have their own option of starting their own account for retirement rather than SS. But they force everyone else to SS.

When we the voters see the light?

I reckon what makes winter bearable here is that the thought of spring is more Delicious.

Our light jackets have gone south.

Our gov wants to go back in years to exclude overtime money from the state retirement plan. Huh? Greg has SAVED NYS many, many dollars (tens of thousands) because he is a great worker and this guy wants to do that?

For once , I hope his union wins in their protest. Uusally, they fight for low-life cases.

I've been resting from all that adrenaline rush of being w/my daughter since she lost her eye to cancer, then waiting for Jan. 7 when she got her prosthetic eye...custom made!...we're still rejoicing that she looks so good and feels good about it too.

Then, there's been the pain and infection of the dog bite on my leg...trips to the doctor for multiple antibiotic shots and pills...improvement but still not completely healed. I WILL survive though. All this activity during Christmas baking, shopping, and present wrapping for multiple house guests staying overnight has kept me more than busy...exhausted would be a better word.

Let's hope that our nation also survives w/zero, the dem congress, and the lib media leading us toward bankruptcy and that they go down to resounding defeats during the next 4 years.

I'm hanging on to witness the disillusionment w/that crowd of miscreants. Meanwhile, lysie breakfasts w/ATRW real Americans will give me the strength to endure the coming government jihad and reading good books will keep me from watching too much TV.

(Have I told you lately how much I despise the media and limp republicans?)

*smooches*

You are a good friend.

Let's try to stay positive. Going negative means they win. I'm not about to let that happen!

We checked that out, too, last summer. It wasn’t that.

Good morning All. LBKQ, hope you can dig out and get out of here next week, it just seems to be getting worse day by day. Yes indeed acid reflux can cause awful coughing and horseness, I have even lost my voice for days.

For me January is the last month of my winter of discontent, for in February I always get spring fever!

From then on I am thinking of SPRING and yearning for all it brings: new life, beautiful budding of trees and plants, and being outside digging in the good earth.

We have missed you. We’ve known that you’ve had a lot on your overflowing platter (even bigger than a plate!). You are right. You WILL survive. My plan for survival the next four years is to avoid political news completely.

dog bite

Yikes, I didn't know about that. Goodness, I'm hoping that things calm down for you Cmom. You've had way more than your share lately.

Update on my mil, she is in a regular room and on just 2 liters of oxygen....at one point she'd be on a whopping 16 liters. (Very short of breath with the pneumonia)

I spoke with her yesterday and tried to start impressing on her that she'll need to rest, rest, rest once she gets home and not do the cooking, dishes etc. We're going to try and arrange some help for the housework as fil's shoulder still needs to recover from the surgery.

I also started impressing on her how she simply MUST see the doctor immediately when she gets sick and not sit at home trying to treat herself with Nyquil.

We were fortunate and prayers answered that she didn't keep spiraling down after she took that turn for the worse. I've seen it happen many times with folks her age especially.

Good plan Jem. I’m going to follow very peripherally and enjoy my life in other pursuits.

I did take a moment to voice my opinion to some Minnesotans here about what’s going on in their state with Franken. I told them it was none of my business who they decided to elect as their governor, but THIS involves as US senator and it is a travesty. I think they actually tended to agree with me, which surprised me as I’d peg them as solid minded Democrat voters and one is very liberal.
