WASHINGTON - Many people like to stop and play with newborn babies, but now some adult women are playing house with fake babies.
Some women are even going as far as taking day trips with the fake babies to the park, out to eat, and even hosting birthday parties for them.

I wouldn't even want to be noticed by a woman who would throw a birthday party for a rubber baby. Ditto! Good critical thinking there, timm22

Wonder how many of them are aborted women...

This was a huge element to the book “Children of Men”, when women had dolls because they couldn’t have children.
In a world where most are fertile, this is insanity.
Conversely, them being so wacky, I’d rather they had dolls than real children.

Every time I think I’ve come up with a fantastic idea for my science fiction and horror books, real life gets weirder ahead of me.
In another few years, my science fiction will just be science.
The horror will just be real life.

Here is a
giant baby doll (actually an art sculpture, but kind of scary when you are talking a 4.5 meter baby).

'Some men play house with fake women. Im just sayin.'Yeah, well I'll counter that - men who buy their companionship out of an Adam and Eve catalog are just lazy, not in need of thorazine and shock treatment. Any shmoe with fifty bucks in his pocket can get a back-alley snarlin' in the local red light district. Carrying around a lump of rubber in public and cooing at it like it just burped on itself is a whole other basket of fruit.
I'm just sayin'......

"You also risk having the idiot parents come back in five years and bankrupt you with suits in which they demand to have the child back." In Texas after the adoption this is not possible.
My middle Brother has adopted two children. Both as babies. One was from a meth head mother who died eight months after the birth. The baby turned out fine, but my Brother was going to adopt him regardless of his health. The other from one of their friend's niece who felt she was to young (17/18) to have a child. I also have a friend who has adopted four children from Russia, so I am clear on what it takes to adopt from there. I agree that adopting is not for everybody, but if one wants a child that bad then it shouldn't be an obstacle.

Back in 1972, the latest fashion statement was the “Pregnancy Puff”, a pillow in the shape of an expectant mother’s abdomen, worn tied around the waist of an [unpregnant] woman under an Empire gown or some such.
It was said to gain the wearer deference and other people’s seats on the bus, but not much else.
Later there were Cabbage Patch Kids complete with adoption `certificates’.

Psychologists say there could be a problem if and when these women stop interacting socially with others in their life. Hmmm, looks like we've got women killing their (unborn) babies and others (or the same?) buying fake babies. Our sad society.
BTW, never seen MSM come close to reporting what psychologists say and experience with the long-term trauma, depression, etc., of post-abortion women.

You may recall the terrible case in Illinois, in which the parents of a child they had given up for adoption came back to get the child when it was about five. They managed to take that poor little boy from the only mommy and daddy he had ever known. I can’t imagine his devastation. Monsters of selfishness. But you can see why people who live in states where this is possible are leery of adoption. Used to be, with sealed adoption records this wasn’t possible.

I’d wager this is marketed towards the anti-Palin, “I’ve had 12 abortions” crowd.

That doll is so realistic that its creepy. This reminds me of two things:
1. The dystopian novel The Children of Men by P. D. James, in which humankind can no longer reproduce and the last child was born 18 years ago. Women go around with dolls in strollers and pretend they're real babies.
2. The undertaker's art, in which a corpse is made to look like a sleeping live human.
Very creepy, either way.
