Details emerge on Jett Travolta's death

John Travolta, Kelly Preston and their children Jett and Ella Bleu, leave an airport in Rome.

John Travolta's lawyers -- who are close family friends -- reveal that Jett may have died in his father's arms Friday.

Us: How is John doing?

-snip- "John and Kelly are suffering total misery. They were so close to their son. This is hard to accept.

-snip-

Us: Have John and Kelly spent time with anyone since everyone arrived?

Ossi and McDermott: "John and Kelly have been pretty much locked away.

"We are staying here until John leaves. The autopsy should be on Monday.

-snip-

Us: It's been reported that Jett was left alone for several hours before being discovered. Can you clarify the timeline?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett was not left alone. He had a nanny present at all times. The nanny was sleeping close to Jett's room. There was a baby monitor, a chime on the door so it was known when Jett was going in and out. He was completely supervised. The nanny found him.

Us: Is it true that Jett died in John's arms?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett may have still been alive when John administered CPR, and then the EMT took over. Jett was pronounced dead at the hospital. I like to believe John had a chance to say goodbye. He may have died in his dad's arms. I am not certain."

Us: It's been said Jett had a history of seizures. How often did he have them?

Ossi and McDermott: "I am not confident to talk about that. I know he had a history, which of course warranted the extra attention."

BUT IT IS CLEAR, THE SCIENTOLOGISTS DO NOT BELIEVE IN TAKING MEDICATIONS FOR SEIZURES.

So what?

That Scientologists withhold NECESSARY medication because they believe they can cure problems with audits and e-meters.

People make choices about how they and their families will live.

Is that neglect?

Is that criminal neglect?

No. they treated him in their own way. It is not the government’s business and certainly not yours.

What are you? A social worker?

Therein lies the question. Why would any decent human being not show compassion for this family?

Has to be a story behind that.

SIGH..JUST A BIG OLE’ SIGH.

First of all, it matters not a whit what the medical professionals believe..it is what the FOUNDER believes...

once again..listen to him on Epilepsy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMom3y1zyZU

they do have to go off drugs for auditing etc.

Have you ever bothered to read what actual ex-scientologists say about what they have been through and what they are required to do????? or do you just read the spin machine?

“In 1990, Christman paid for and began Scientology’s second to highest level, Operating Thetan VII.”

Why don’t you read what Tory Christman has to say about epilepsy drugs.

By the way, was the Travoltas neurologist incompetent ? He should have known Kawasaki Syndrome was not the cause of Jetts seizures.

You do a discredit to the medical profession if you keep claiming that fallacy.

You and RummyChick are both just throwing up straw man arguments and all you are accomplishing is to tick a whole lot of people off — at you!

Christians have the demons and Scientology has the Thetans. I can’t remember exactly what Hubbard said/wrote about Thetans and epilepsy but they are the cause...or maybe it was the Body Thetans.

It is such a whacked out religion it is hard for me to understand how anyone could take it seriously.

At any rate, the auditing..that you pay for..and detox and various other things ..that you pay for..can cure you of all these things...no need for medical science when you have Hubbard.

I suppose their procedures can be likened to exorcism if one wishes to look at it that way.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man

What straw man argument are you talking about. Good god, you don’t even know enough about Scientology that you actually made my argument when trying to criticize me.

I am still waiting to see if you meant it when you said that the Travoltas would not use that drug if they didn’t believe in psych meds.

For the record, you are trying to make this about Scientology. This is NOT about Scientology, it is about the loss of a family’s son to a seizure.

It’s not the government’s business?

Really?

Is it okay with you if a child needs a blood transfusion to live and the parents refuse to let the child have it and the child dies?

It is about the details of his death. Scientology is VERY MUCH a part of this because it effected the treatment he got and the way he was cared for.

And I think this is one that the Scientologists are not going to be able to strong arm their way out of as easily as in the past.

Because the bottom line is
either
the Goldenboy followed the religion or he didn’t. If he didn’t, then why should the lowly people infusing all the cash follow the guidelines concerning psych drugs.

You know what! I don’t believe in the Mormon religion either, but I know a lot of very fine people who are Mormon and who DO believe in it. There is a lot of religions I don’t “get.” But to trash this family in their time of grief because YOU happen to hate their religion is mean and dispicable and evil behavior and you both should be ashamed of yourselves bringing that trash to this thread.

I think they ex-scientologist over at Anonymous that was interviewed by ABC news and Inside edition (or the Insider..I don’t remember) was an OT8. At least that is in the title of his alias...and he certainly knows a lot about Scientology.

Yes. If a family has a belief that prevents traditional medical care, I dont have a problem with it.
