Good evening. As Arctic temps and snow grip much of the country, I pray for all those who travel and have to spend time outside.
Also remember the many affected by the economic woes this season...anecdotal stories we're all hearing bring the statistics to life, and add a somber theme to the time which is usually so joyful.

May I suggest you listen to “Just to be the man you love”, as it breaks into English early on. “Unbreak my heart” is fabulous too.
Lots of discussion you and others I am reading regarding President Washington and President Lincoln. Those are my choices for number 1 and number 2 greatest presidents. The third is President Reagan. We just began our plant shutdown for the entire time from now until Jan. 5. I am so ready for this break.
Yes. I would concur with that, well, I would switch Reagan and Lincoln. I am not happy with the centralization which began under Lincoln. If it has stopped there, okay, but it didn’t. We began the move to socialism with Lincoln.
Congratulations on the successful tests. It is nice when things work.
Since you are having a break now, I expect to see you here a bit more often.
This is cute:
From a friend -
New Years Update: In 2009 we will have a new president. All wars will cease. Hunger will be irradicated. The rich will not get richer, and the poor will not get poorer. We will beat our swords into plowshares, and our spears into pruning hooks. All tears will be wiped away... and... Oh, wait. That would be the return of the Messiah! Well, maybe we’ll have to wait a little longer for that One. But then again, you never know the day or the hour. One thing’s for sure, when Christ returns, I’ve got a feeling he won’t be measuring curtains for the White House.
To our Republican friends in their sorrow:
Happy Sarah Palin Day.
To our Democrat friends in their elation:
Happy Gov. Blagojevich Day.
To our Independent friends in their confusion:
Happy Split Ticket Day.
But mostly, to everyone everywhere:
Happy Jesus’ Birthday.
I listened to some of Il Divo this afternoon. Thanks for the tip, I’ll go listen to “Just to be the man you love” and whatever is there.
Loved your friends email, especially the last line:
Happy Jesus Birthday!
Rav, sure was good to see your 101 sign this morning.
You have been sorely missed and it will be so great to see those 101, 201, etc. signs back on ATRW!
Merry Christmas and best wishes for all good things for you, your wife and your family.
just passing thru while I rest my weary bones.
REST you weary bones, Granny. I just put the sauce to the bread for bread pudding, cinnamon/nut rolls for breakfast Christmas morn, have the ducks in the fridge, “thawing”. Tomorrow, I’ll make 4 pumpkin pies, a pumpkin cheesecake for my cleaning lady and family, a lemon custard layered cake, a choclolate-red cake, get the dry stuff for the dressing and the liquid stuff ready to put together Christmas day, the potatoes peeled and soaking, the carrots peeled and marinating in spices, the beets soaking in a sweet&sour sauce, and the pickles etc in their dishes. OH, I’ll have the eggnog in a pickling jar ready for the serving bowl, and those not inclined toward eggnog, I’ll have the cranberry punchless in the “dripless” container. (it drips). Rest well dear FRiend...tomorrow will be busy.
Well, I thought I was rested, until I read what you are cooking.
It made me tired, all over again.
I have all the tiny pieces of farm machinery stuffed into the stockings, but the real ‘prize’ this year is kid sized leather work gloves!! I know they’ll be a big hit!
I came back from a long trip (China) last weekend and am still severely jet-lagged. It's 3AM and I just gave up trying to sleep.
But my computer still defaults to ATRW when I turn it on and so yesterday I'm staring at the trap you all set for me. The post number 100. Just sitting there.
I couldn't resist.
We’re so glad you did.
Good Morning to the Dawn Patrol. There’s plenty to do around here today, so I’ll be in and out. Mostly out. Our first Mass is at 4:00. I have to read, so I am guarenteed a seat! The rest of the family isn’t quite so lucky, they will probably go around 3 to be assured a seat.
Good morning.
We opened gifts last night and will gather for Christmas brunch this morning. Daughter and family are hosting her hubby’s family tonight and tomorrow, so they’ll be leaving after brunch.
Church with son and family is at five, and then dil is making a nice dinner.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
IG and I haven’t been to China lately, but we’re here with ya!
We have post menapausel lag.........
No kidding! I really needed more than 4 hrs of sleep last night to get me thru today’s activities, but it’s not going to happen, and there will be no NAP, either.
TOMORROW!!
I haven't invented anything remotely capable of changing the world, but I remind myself constantly that Thomas Edison did get by w/very little sleep.....as some of us do. LOL
Very best wishes for a Merry Christmas!
That is exactly what I was thinking when I wrote that I was on break. :))
I could eat everything on that plate right now, lysie.
I’m hungry.
Thank you!
