I have felt sorry for lots of creatures but not for flies or spiders. Don’t particularly get along with bees and hornets and wasps, but if they will leave me alone, I will leave them alone. One of my biggest fears is spiders. They appear out of nowhere seems like.

Introductions





It is not every day that I get to explore outside
The box that has been my home so secluded, deep and wide
Yet Mother decided that I required a refreshing change of scenery
To fill so many vacuums now that I old enough to hear and see

The many wonders of my world as it slowly unfolds and expands
Around a precocious curious Kitten, events may not occur as planned
As I moved in fits and starts across the soft stuff beneath my paws
That feels so wonderful when I gently splay and flex my claws
I was taken aback by the sight of the largest creature I'd ever seen!

With fur that was not black or white, but somewhere in between
Quietly resting and oblivious to my interrupted pursuit of fun
Admirably sharing my appreciation of the bright and warming Sun
With a long wet nose and large ears that dripped down
And twitched as I approached, wisely opting not to dash or bound

Close enough that whispered introductions could be made
Nodding in approval at the ease in which my friend created shade
Plus many inviting places just made for a Kitten to curl up
Mother took advantage of this when Kathleen was little more than a pup

Before we get off this fruitcake gig, I just had to mention something Johnny Carson said years ago. (I loved Johnny).
He said ‘there was only one fruitcake in the world and it got shipped to different people every year!’ Now, we know that can’t be but it was a funny bit back then! Johnny made everything funny with his facial expressions. He will always be one of our greatest comedians.

I know how you feel..I hate when Christmas posts end! Love the graphic..My daughter and son and law and 6 kitties left late yesterday..I am so behind here I will never catch up..and so behind at paper work I should stay off the computer..LOL

Meg, that is a beautiful post! Love all those precious redbirds.(one female) Isn’t that sweet? I know what you mean about catching up. To tell you the truth, I have taken lots of naps since my party was over and was not ashamed of it. I really was worn out this time.
