During the cold war, JFK claimed to have gone to the moon. He got congress to spend billions on his moon landing and pretended america landed there, convincing congress to give him billions, the fakeness of the landing is well documented.
It seems to me that this liberal moneybags, that he took these billions for personal use, or maybe gave them to the USSR (we all know he was soft on communism)
Perhaps his death was similarly staged in order to keep his billions or keep congress of his case.
I wonder if under an obama administration we will see more moon landings.

Well, I had pretty much forgotten about that article. No, I didn’t need to save that part of the supplement but I did save the rest.
Isn’t Turisas the group that did “Rah, Rah, Rasputin!”? Bill wants something Finnish, or Swedish, with cellos.

I was checking Mr. Scout’s posting history.
In regard to employment, I have a suggestion:
You can be self-employed. Here’s the scam. Many people invest in insurance. This is a way of protecting themselves against losses.
In case they have a fire, theft, or other damaging incident, their insurance MAY reimburse them for the value of the lost material.
However, some things are simply irreplaceable.

So here’s my idea. Present to your neighbors that you will help them document the precious materials they would like to protect.
You can help them update their records of ownership of DVD players and their models and serial numbers. Their TVs, “Stereos”, and other appliances that they never got around to documenting.
If such things got stolen or destroyed, the people could present a list of the items to the police for help in identifying the stolen material, or to the insurance company for reimbursement.
That’s something few people take the time to do. You could begin the process by “surveying” their home with a video camera, making a video record of their belongings. Then you follow that up by listing models and serial numbers. Don’t forget to document jewelry, but don’t record where the jewelry is kept!
Now here is the best part. Very few people take time to back up their photo albums and other precious records. You could scan their pictures into a computer, record them to DVD, or simply make backup prints of their treasures, to be kept in a safe place.
If your clients should suffer a catastrophic loss, such as those folks in California did, you could supply them with replacement photos and other helpful records, and you would be thanked endlessly for your forethought and enterprise.
But don’t let that be your only reward. Plan what your documentation would be, and how much it would cost you to implement. From that information, work up a price schedule of various services. Your school friends and chums could help you spread the word to find clients, and you should give them a “finder’s fee” reward for doing so.
This might be just a small scale project, perhaps only getting you a small reward, or even a community service badge of some sort.
But it could also “snowball” into a larger activity, which could conceivably be very rewarding.

You as parent will want to assure yourself that proper security precautions are in place.
Always know where your child is, and maintain close communications.
Be sure to safeguard any received information from potential harm in your own care, including loss of privileged information to possible neighborhood thieves.
Et cetera.
In principle, it is the same kind of service as a safe-deposit box, except for the personal service angle.
You would want to physically protect the records, and have multiple backups in separated locations.
That is an excellent idea. All I need is an actual video camera and a new scanner. I can get Bill on this too I bet.
Anoreth thinks this is a great idea. USAA will have guidelines for what an insured should have on his inventory, and they can start by doing ours! Then they can volunteer for their Scout leaders and some old folks at church, to build efficiency and generate some positive word-of-mouth. They can get character references; a priest, parish council head, and Sister should look good.
Eventually, they can advertise in the church bulletin and over the homeschool association email list, and among Scouts.
Sad to say, but it would also be profoundly informative to interview someone who has suffered a damaging loss, just to emphasize what is really important in the aftermath. Excerpts from that would make a poignant reminder to the target audience.
Don’t forget the possibility of having an annual fee for the service. Even if no information changes, there is a cost for maintaining the information. That could be coupled with a reminder to update new information.
An offshoot of this kind of service would be to provide backups for people with computer records. Another thing few folks do for themselves in a timely fashion.
Another good idea. There are a lot of possible offshoots of the basic service.
Speaking of small-business ideas, I saw an ad in the newspaper the other day for someone who would do people’s Christmas decorating for them. “Home Staging,” I think, was the title - she’s get their decorations out of storage and fix everything up to look classy. I suppose she also does arrangement for people trying to sell their house, or holding a social event where they want to impress.
And we know someone, one of my fellow Girl Scout leaders, who had a total loss in a house fire. I think it was about 5 years ago, so maybe she could talk to them about it without its being too upsetting for her.
