To the moon, troll, to the moon!

During the cold war, JFK claimed to have gone to the moon. He got congress to spend billions on his moon landing and pretended america landed there, convincing congress to give him billions, the fakeness of the landing is well documented.

It seems to me that this liberal moneybags, that he took these billions for personal use, or maybe gave them to the USSR (we all know he was soft on communism)

Perhaps his death was similarly staged in order to keep his billions or keep congress of his case.

I wonder if under an obama administration we will see more moon landings.

Heathrow -- I avoid it like the plague. Even when everything goes right it's not a pleasant place. They really tried with their new Terminal 5, though it's SO freakingly commercial I didn't like it. If you are in a hurry it's hard to find the gates hidden away between the shops; it might be nicer had I had lots of time to stroll around with my wallet safely packed away in my pocket. (I still prefer Gatwick.)

When the time comes I'll miss the travel (am looking forward to the possibility of a return to P.R.China this fall as an honored guest & speaker), but I won't miss the airports.

I still can't figure out what brain-dead idiot led one airline to feature "Terminal Man" on one of its (international?) flights... On the plus side I saw a movie for which I'd never have purchased a ticket, on the minus side I was reminded again why I detest airports.

If I had a newer vehicle, there isn’t an airport in the world that could attract me. I’d rather drive.

I’d even sail, if I could. I understand some “freighters” will take passengers for a minimum fee, and if I have to go overseas, that would be my choice.

Airports SUCK!

And I’m going to bed. I had no plans of staying up this late!

See ya tomorrow!

I have no choice, even if the company would let me ride tramp steamers from here to Europe (or wherever -- and they don't go to Louisville KY, ISFAIK). My grandmother traveled the world on freighters and advised: "Book the ones with German cooks."

Good night, sleep tight...

...and tomorrow I have my hair & beard reset from the wild-eyed (?) Santa look to the rather more-trimmed and somewhat professional appearance you saw.

I saw a luggage store in a airport in the terminal area pass the security check. I have seen hotels in the airport and could see why some people might perhaps find a need for new luggage there. Not to be to loquacious but this store was pass the baggage check. Only ticketed passengers could get to this luggage store. There are several stores in the terminal area that sell a lot of stuff, but they sold bags or luggage that you could not carry onto the plane. The plane. Look boss the plane. Last summer when my sister visited with her kids we took them to see The Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden which has this house on it's grounds

What kind of security do these really small airports have. The one like in that old TV show. I like the one train trip that I took. Someday I would like to take one up the west coast. Taking pictures and reading old detective novels.

-18oF here this AM. Without the windchill. Currently -14oF on our way to a rather optimistic 8oF.

My thoughts exactly. I thought the blinker fluid in my turn signals was a bit sluggish this morning...

Is there really fluid in turn signals? I had no idea!

The dog is lying on her bed in the sunbeam, and the cats are giving her the Evil Eye from six feet away. Eventually, I guess they’ll just go sit on her!

Er... no. There isn't really "fluid" in turn signals. Electrons are said to "flow", hence the humor of it being so cold electron flow slows down...

Hhmm...

Doesn't sound nearly as funny now. Sorry about that.

6 feet? Mutant cat?

Four feet per cat, for a total of 8.

Sorry to ruin your joke by being an ignoramus :-). I have no idea how electrical-dingies work.

8 feet or 6 feet? I'm so confused... ;-)

I was reading up on Bose-Einstein condensates recently. Superfluids are neat. Considering how cold it gets up, the jokes almost write themselves. Er... In a geeky, nerd-like way.

Probably they ship the stuff you bought. Hard to imaging they make the sales volume necessary to keep those shops open, but I guess they must.

Can’t tell. Adobe doesn’t support Kubuntu 8.04 very well.
