During the cold war, JFK claimed to have gone to the moon. He got congress to spend billions on his moon landing and pretended america landed there, convincing congress to give him billions, the fakeness of the landing is well documented.
It seems to me that this liberal moneybags, that he took these billions for personal use, or maybe gave them to the USSR (we all know he was soft on communism)
Perhaps his death was similarly staged in order to keep his billions or keep congress of his case.
I wonder if under an obama administration we will see more moon landings.
Landing. This was orbit.
I do remember that, actually. Or think I do.
I was young.
Just not necessarily concurrently.
NnBob is still young.
I was real young. Three.
I think my parents got a color TV that year.
July 20, 1969 was the date of the first manned lunar landing on Apollo 11. Apollo 8 flew December 21-27, 1968. Michael Collins wondered whether or not the command for Apollo 8 to go for Trans Lunar Injection was more historic than his Apollo 11 flight. That command was never given up to that point. After 8 came back, it was just a matter of time (and a bit of luck) until the manned landing would take place.
I vaguely remember seeing something about the moon, in black and white. We didn’t have a color tv until ‘72 or ‘73. I remember the Watergate hearings endlessly on the radio much more clearly.
Weren’t they also worried about reentering the atmosphere and burning up.?
Not really. The concern was that they wouldn’t be able to control their attitude.
As long as they could keep a stable orientation, they were confident that the ablation shielding would be adequate.
Know what I was thinking about yesterday? I saw a mark on someone's fingernail, and I remembered that when I used to play marbles, I would get a mark like that on my thumbnail.
It came from the way I held the marble, (aggie in some parts of the country), prior to "shooting" it.
I never could get the high-speed launch that some could achieve, but I had pretty good accuracy.
Never could do that piercing whistle between the teeth, either ...

Neither could I, but I could do an ultrasonic whistle. People would hear a small noise not audible more than a couple meters, but dogs would respond at many times that distance.

You right stuff,
You have a detailed record of The Undead thread.
Will some of us be in your next book?
Or should I say Wow!
And Thanks!!!!
Maybe tomorrow I'll look at the HTML source and suggest a solution? (I'm about gone for the night tonight.)
Some of you are in my current books.
The apparent missing months are during those threads that went from beginning to end, and not moving every month.
That would be the Original Undead Thread, and The Bride of The Undead Thread.
Moving every month started in August of 2005.
Yessiree, you are correct about that. So much for the Night of the Undead Thread, the Son of the Undead Thread, and so many other sequels (and “prequels”?) that will now never appear.
