[history]
During the cold war, JFK claimed to have gone to the moon. He got congress to spend billions on his moon landing and pretended america landed there, convincing congress to give him billions, the fakeness of the landing is well documented.
It seems to me that this liberal moneybags, that he took these billions for personal use, or maybe gave them to the USSR (we all know he was soft on communism)
Perhaps his death was similarly staged in order to keep his billions or keep congress of his case.
I wonder if under an obama administration we will see more moon landings.

We are to have a cold night here, mid 30’s predicted.
I am starting to get things ready so I can pack to move. I am almost to 100 hats. Home is where I keep my hats.

28F and the snow forecast keeps growing. We could be in for some real "fun" now because the stage is set for the snow to stick for a long time. A couple of days to freeze the ground is the setup we already have.
After the one that is set to start tonight and run until Thursday, there's a third forecast for this weekend, and I saw a hint that there could be couple after that.
100 hats? Wow. I have probably little over a dozen, including watch caps. I'm not much into wearing hats, though in more recent years I've learned the value of same in summer (wide brimmed), and in rain (snap-brim, to keep glasses clear).

"Home is where I keep my hats." I used to say something similar when I rode a motorcycle. "Anywhere I hang my helmet is home."
I don't have a motorcycle helmet anymore. It's just as well; I don't have a motorcycle either.

I still have my soldier’s hat. It never did fit very well.

I don’t have a church hat, being merely a member of the laity.

I don’t have a church hat, either, but I do have a church key.

DP has a church key, because he has to get in for Boy Scouts. My church hat is chip straw with a big red rose.

I have a church key too but it doesn’t open any churches, only beer bottles. (It used to open beer cans too, but they open other ways now.)

I knew it was a bottle opener - I was just being deliberately obtuse. I remember, barely, when you needed a special doohickey to open drink cans.

I needed a church key one day in an airport lounge.
I improvised with a sharp metal attachment on the bottom of the table. I was determined to not be kept from my beer.

They didn’t serve you beer in a glass in the airport? I used to carry iced-tea mix when I flew often, and ask for water at the bar or cafe. Since I was obviously underage in those days, sometimes an official-type person would ask what that dark drink with scum on top was, and I’d show my tea-mix jar and invite them to taste it.

Artificial flavor, artificial color, artificial sweetener. I was addicted through high school, college, and beyond. I’d make it double strength back in college. Around the time I was expecting Bill, 1993-4, my digestion went wonky and I started drinking room-temperature Diet Coke instead. Eventually I developed a taste for coffee, and only have iced tea now when we’re eating out, although I still drink hot tea in the winter sometimes.

"They didnt serve you beer in a glass in the airport?" We had chosen a bottled brand, but it wasn't a twist-off lid.
This was in June of 2001. I don't think I've flown since then.

My last flight was May of 2003, when DP and I (and Pat) came here to look for a house. My mother has set up USAir passes for Anoreth and me to go to Florida this year. We’ll probably try to get a date in late January or early February.

"What did the dog just eat?" Don't worry, it was legal. It had fallen on the floor.
You aren't missing any legal papers, are you?

No, papers are secure. My uncle’s lab ate his paycheck once. I thought my aunt would kill it.
