[history]
During the cold war, JFK claimed to have gone to the moon. He got congress to spend billions on his moon landing and pretended america landed there, convincing congress to give him billions, the fakeness of the landing is well documented.
It seems to me that this liberal moneybags, that he took these billions for personal use, or maybe gave them to the USSR (we all know he was soft on communism)
Perhaps his death was similarly staged in order to keep his billions or keep congress of his case.
I wonder if under an obama administration we will see more moon landings.

Hold a give-away! (Or a sale, if you’ve got the energy.) First before you start packing, then when you’re about half-way through, and again when you’re unpacking at the new house.

I have lived here long enough to get a lot of stuff. I know how that goes! I dread the day we prepare to move from here. But I should get rid of some things... like the ca 1985 Epson RX80-F/T dot matrix printer that was last fired up... oh... 11 years ago? Still in original box, with manual, bottom print wire stuck and no longer fires (as of 11+ years ago).

I am only moving about 7 miles. I think I’ll try to get some local college students to help me move for a extra computer I won’t have room for.

I can remember when you would repair one of those. I have repaired one of those. It was my job.

I had a move once that was about a half mile. I put more miles on the van going from and to the rental place than I did on the move itself.
Eben so, I downsized a LOT for that one (it was a downsizing move). Some old vacuum tube equipment (kits I'd built myself as a kid), thousands of SF books, and so on, all went out one place or another.

I did “repair” it once. Need to get more solvent into the head to un-gum the wire.

I’m bad that way too. I hate getting rid of books — I have a repair manual for a car stolen ca 1980 (but I really liked that car!).

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Apocalypse
Flames in ev’ry store
But the Scariest sight to see
is the Zombie that will be
At your own front door
A passel of kooks and a zombie that scoots
And it’s chewing on Barney and Ben
Walls that will talk and will go for a walk
has enveloped Janice and Jen
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for it all to start again
And the thing that’ll make them scream is the chainsaw that you bring deep within their hearts.”

That was sprightly! I’ve been over to church to make copies. Cold out today. I’m going to have to make a donation for more copy paper, because I feel guilty :-).
