If you visit while they are there "DON'T EAT THE BARBEQUE"
They say the secret is in the sauce...
Kicked? Kicked?!
Naw... she did more than that... Sarah hip-checked them off the back board and smashed their condescending egos into the ice. Then she gave em a stick to the groin just to teach them WHO’s Boss. I love it! A real Boston Bruin that gal!
NEVER EVER MESS WITH A HOCKEY MOM!
To think that her reform starts now is quite impressive.
The perky one is a moron.
To be fair, Paul had about 30-50 delegates from states like Idaho, Pennsylvania, etc. that were not officially counted 'cause Paul's name wasn't on the ballot.
What was funny, at least to me, was after Boehner said "let's make it unanimous" and asked "all opposed," you could easily hear some people scream "NO!" and he said McCain's nomination was unanimous.
Harry Reid, the leader of the do-nothing Senate. He doesnt like John McCain... no better proof weve chosen the right man.
The hockey mom telling it like it is about this Congress was awesome.
From what I’ve read, here’s how it went:
The Bridge to Nowhere deal was underway well before she became Governor. Prior to that, she did support it, and it was going to be funded by both the Alaskan government and federal earmarks.
As time passed, costs ballooned (as they are wont to do with anything government-related).
By the time she got into office as Governor, the cost for the Bridge to Nowhere was many times larger than it had initially been, and the federal government was demanding Alaska pick up a larger share of the tab. I’m not sure what came next at this point; Sarah Palin ending the deal (”Thanks but no thanks”), or Congress nixing the specific designation that the earkmark money be used on the Bridge to Nowhere.
IIRC, the allotted funds were then used for other things.
I think that’s the basic gist of it...
This is America.
(((Hugs))) to all.
It was a good night for the RNC
There was a time during her Governor’s race where she was a supporter of building the bridge.
When the cost went up, and the congress changed the appropriation to a general grant for roads, she decided there were other projects that were more necessary, and that she would no longer support the bridge.
She supported building the road, but providing a cheaper way to get over the water (I guess a ferry or something).
The people in the town were upset she called them “nowhere”.
She never voted FOR the bridge, nor did she ever as an official spend a dime on it.
thanks, is there a link somewhere to the speech? Please give me a ping if and when you run across it.
Sheesh! I don't need to laugh this much at this time of night!
Sorry I meant HE as in Harry Reid was just mad because Sarah made a joke at his expense in her speech.
We are the party of history and principal. They are the party of oppression and government. When God gets involved it’s easy. I truly believe God is with her.
Replaying the speech on my DVD recorder - at least a 2 minute and 33 second standing O for Governor Palin at the start of her speech!
I’m going bed. I think we have just about finished Rush’s shop prep for tomorrow.:?)
What a great night Jim. Thank You for Free Republic!!!
