I'm sick to my stomach. Although I knew she was going to have to do this..she does take a point of view and she does stick to it, I'm still just sick to my stomach. And for those here who dismiss this woman, you couldn't be more wrong..her books sell like wildfire, her shows sell out and alot of women take what she says as the gospel.
She did say she would still vote for McCain, but she said she wished there was a third party to vote for.
And for those of you who want to attack me for reporting this here, please, please direct your anger elsewhere. I'm not the problem.
I'll post the blog when she uploads it. It's not there yet, but she said on her show she' put it up.
I knew you'd have an eloquent response ~ thank you!
I do believe her children will be the most loved and cared for little ones the White House (and Grey House) have ever seen.
Dr. Laura never advocates abortion. She is staunchly pro-life. 'Sucking it into a sink' is never an option. She has high praise for the Palins in this regard.
She can't be that opposed to Sarah Palin, because after all, she IS voting for her!
That sort of trumps her criticism, don't you think?
I am glad you don’t know me. You would think I was REALLY BAD!!!!
“Bristol Palin has conducted herself with more maturity about this situation than Dr. Laura, who milked her private situation for airtime fodder.”
in fact, as I drove home last night, i switched to her and she talked about a mistake she made in her 20s that she owned up to.
Odd that she is in the media - whether a talk show host or not - and while she wanted people to respect the privacy of her son and family during the My Space incident, she does not offer the same consideration here.
I do think Sarah Palin can be a good parent, and the son will likely have a full time parent in his dad (another thing Dr. Laura usually espouses).
And about the notion that Dr. Laura can never speak of virtue because of what she did twenty (Maybe 30) years ago. I'll say it again. I stole a shirt when I was 17 years old. Does that mean I'm never allowed to state that shoplifting is wrong?
Just too sad to listen to.
Dr Laura is displaying absolute stupidity, and she has it bass-ackwards: the problem is the TOP of the GOP.
She has NO problem with McCain?!? From what little I know of Palin, I’d much rather SHE be on the top of the ticket than McCain.
Get lost. I'd like to know why Free Republic became Feminist Central overnight. No other candidate has a special needs infant and a teenage daughter in a difficult situation, all at the same time. Questioning why a parent would accept VP in such a situation is relevant.
Ridiculous. I don't think Palin is "bad." I just don't agree with her and some of her choices. I doubt I'd find you "bad" even if I disagreed with some of your choices as well. I'm posting here from the perspective of politics. Many take these discussions much too personally IMO and the level of tolerance for dissenting views here grows weaker and weaker with each passing day which is unfortunate.
I will take you at your word. I will respectfully disagree with you, though, that she cannot handle this job. Every one of these Republican men who have come out and supported her are right on - that this is the most overtly sexist attack. I also think she does have the experience. Not for many many years, but that’s fine. Sometimes you need someoen from the outside.
best to you

Dr. Laura is against abortion. She thinks unwed mothers should give their babies up for adoption.
She was not critical of the pregnancy, and she applauded the Palin’s decision not to abort the baby.
She was critical of Gov. Palin’s decision to work when she has a young infant (especially one with special needs).
Dr. Laura thinks that when someone chooses to have a baby then they should try to stay home until the child is school-aged.
Thank you, Mary.
Your tag is so good.
I’ve heard it also as “What you see is what you be.”
Every comment on this thread, including Dr. Laura’s, is from everyone’s own experience and perspective, however broad or limited.
I’ve lost a lot of respect for Dr. Laura after reading her comments. McCain made the perfect choice in Palin for VP. She had raised her FIVE kids to be upstanding and healthy citizens. I might add that Dr. Laura only raised one child and he had his own problems. So in comparison, Dr. Laura really has no business lecturing Palin.
Well, she has a bully pulpit and reaches millions and is going to be on again any minute.
Oh here she is now ~
let’s see if she brings this up again...
I just had to inject that all that stuff about her son a few years back was discredited. If you know something different, please explain.
Female version of Micheal Savage.
Oh no she’s not.
