Looking Around

Mother is slowly letting me get used to my surroundings
Within these tall and sturdy imposing walls, it really is astounding!
Kept warm and dry and safely away from strong winds and summer rains
Listening to the chatter of many unseen mice who steal forgotten grain
That fed the Horses in their stalls long before I came around
I know their scents and have looked for them, but they can't be found
Mother says that it's safer to look for things much closer to home
With its hard dirt floor, deep shadows and places to roam
Following new and hidden eerie sounds that seem just out of reach
As I try to climb the big tall ladder in search of a secluded niche
Which might be a bit to much for young novice gathering up his will
Before opting for a much more interesting perch upon the wide window sill

Beautiful yard, Nan. We'll be seeing it 'for real' very soon. :-)
Mornin' you two. Amy, did you guys get that freak thunder and lightening storm that just rolled through? Well, actually, it was only one bolt of lightening, one clap of thunder and a downpour that only lasted about 5 minutes. We NEVER get that kind of weather this time of year.

Oh, I have never seen anything cuter than that little pocket puppy! I'm sure that is a Yorkshire Terrier, but he looks a lot like my mom's little Silky Terrier when he was a puppy.
A happy and blessed Sunday to you, yorkie!
To: jaycee
Mornin' jaycee. We just had a freak storm roll through. It never rains in California, as they say....especially not in July. It was a refreshing treat to wake up to rain pouring down and the rumble of thunder.
I hope you have a wonderful Sunday, jaycee. TTYL

God sure did paint those Clematis a most gorgeous shade of deep purple. How lovely!
Sunday hugs to you, MEG!

Nan is the sweetest person you would ever want to meet.Ditto to that! She also has a wonderful sense of humor, and she is a very forgiving soul, too.
Nan, I sure hope that you learned your lesson and will put everything breakable up out of my reach. LOL. 'Cuz, the bad news is: I am still a clutz. But the good news is: this time, if I manage to break something, I will have my husband with me to fix it before it is discovered. ;-)

Good morning, Lori.
We have lots of clouds and the weather report is for light rain in the valley today. Strange weather!
I haven’t heard any thunder. If there was any nearby, Millie would be trying to tear the door down. She is deathly afraid of thunder and gunshots.
Thank you for the beautiful Welcome Graphic that I used this morning.
Have already forgotten when you are leaving .... have a great trip and give Nan a hug from me and then another from Marissa.
I’m going to see if we can get a picnic thread up next week. Time is flying.
Keep in touch whenever possible.
Hugs to you and JK

How are you doing with your new camera, jaycee?
To: JustAmy
We are leaving tomorrow evening to drive up to our son's in the Bay Area, then Tuesday AM he will take us to the airport in Oakland. :-)
Now that I am pretty much all packed I am really getting excited about this trip. Unfortunately, I still have many things to do around the house. Since we are having a puppy sitter coming in, I need to leave the house presentable. Also have some yard work to tend to, but I have enough time to get it all done.
I will keep in touch when I can, maybe even post a photo or two. Did I tell you that the Bed and Breakfast where we are staying in Salem is right behind the "House of the Seven Gables"? Cool, huh? This is going to be an interesting trip. I never was interested in history when I was younger, but over the years I have developed an appreciation for American history, especially.
Yikes, picnic time is here again! About six weeks from now. How did that happen? LOL

Aloha, Fish Hawk.
Thank you for the Sunday poem that I used in today's Welcome.
Hope you are having a beautiful Lord's Day.

Sending Wishes for a Blessed Lord's Day to Everyone!
Revelation Song
~Flower on the Roadside~
Here on Mount Zion in Jerusalem,
The Lord of Hosts will Spread a Wondrous Feast
For Everyone Around the World;
A Delicious Feast of Good Food,
With Clear, Well-Aged Wine and Choice Beef.
At that Time He will Remove the Cloud of Doom,
The Pall of Death that Hangs Over the Earth;
He will Swallow Up Death Forever.
The Lord will Wipe Away All Tears.

A visit to Manchu Picchu has just been added to my "bucket list". The Incas and the Mayans built some amazing communities.
Thanks for your powerpoint posts. I enjoy them.
