1. clause (g) also has age requirements.
2. IF Obama was born in Kenya (and I have no reason to think he was), then it is clause (g) which is relevant, rather than clause (d), since his father was not a US “national”.
It's possible that Obama will not release his birth certificate because, among other things, it identifies his father as Arab rather than African, thus destroying his “authenticity” as an African-American.
Nope.
The "five years after age 16" language is ancient. My great-grandfather came here from Ireland at age 5 and was naturalized at age 19. The "16+5" rule existed then for naturalization, BUT ONLY IF YOU CAME HERE AFTER AGE 16.
I'm quite sure that a 16-year old US citizen mother living in the US could give birth to "natural born citizens" at any time from 1775 until now.
And, since Obama was born in the State of Hawaii, it's irrelevant anyway. He's as "natural born" as you or I.
Hawaii has been a state since 1959. Obama was born in 1961.
How can he be naturalized? He was born on American soil to an American parent. As the Wall Street Journal posted today, they have a copy of his birth certificate, and this rumor doesn’t hold water.
We need to find valid reasons to oppose Obama. Let's just stay away from the tinfoil.
OK - that makes sense ....
I see; the law that was quoted applies only if you were born outside the US, is that correct?
Thanks for the responses.
I’m sorry. I don’t believe the question of whether or not he’s actually a US citizen is a petty thing. No one said anything about people born in Hawaii not being citizens. I think you need to go back and reread.
Amen to the iota of integrity. I give main stream media about as much attention as the rags they sell at the check out stand any more. Anyone remember the quote, from Noam Chomsky, He who controls the media controls the minds of the public.
Not just a birth certificate, but a valid one bearing the official seal of the state of Hawaii. The one that floating around does not have that seal, so it is not valid proof of anything.
