I am sorry to hear that AuntB. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends. I sure don’t like seeing notices like this. I am glad to have every poster here, and miss those who can no longer come here to participate.

So long Jackelope Breeder. We’ll miss you.

We’re on for dinner, then. Even if you choose the most expensive reataurant here. Just watch for an insane fool who looks like Theoden of Rohan.

Filet mignon wrapped in enough bacon to send a Muslim straight to Hell? Taters and pintos done over a smoky mesquite fire? Fresh home-made bread? Live Western music that won the Roy Rogers seal of approval?

Welcome to Fantasy Island, love — and the reason I fight on.

I will be in continual prayer for Jackelope Breeder's family and friends.

I can't begin to express the gratitude I hold for this dear man! He was one of my "mentors" here on FR. In my life alone, his "ripple" is still ongoing. His wisdom, his love of this country, his unflinching determination to educate people concerning illegal immigration, his devotion to changing illegal status quo, his fledged steadfastness... all reasons I admired him greatly!

To all his family and friends--- I will be praying for all of you!

I’ve long since had the sneaking suspicion my last mortal thought would be “oh crap, this is gonna start a massive train”. Everyone goes, may as well go doing what you love.

RIP JB. You will be missed.

About to head out to the funeral - from what I’ve heard, his wife and mother are not taking it well.
Absolutely no surprise there...

I have fond memories of Hank Dillon. Number one, he was one of my favorite posters on Free Republic until some overzealous mod banned him for talking about the acclaimed and successful Minuteman Project while it was in its planning stages. I remember helping Hank scout out a few of the Minuteman Project observation posts ahead of the event, checking a few trails, drop sights, pickup sights, etc. He seemed to know all of the illegal alien trails and habits around here.

Hank and I worked in the same building so I saw him often and we would talk about things. The last thing I remember talking to him about, which was my last day at work there (I've since moved to Utah) was how excited he was to be remarrying. He was happy and we talked about that instead of our usual talk about politics and illegal immigration.

When I was president of a Republican Club in the area and we had a vacancy for VP, Hank stepped up and took that position when others didn't want to be bothered with actually DOING something instead of just listening to people talk about people doing something.

Hank was someone who would go and try to actually do something to right the wrongs that he saw. He was a doer, not a complainer. He was also a person who could work well within and around rival groups. When the groups against illegal immigration split apart, and then split again, and kept feuding, Hank was still somewhat of a liaison between them, trying to make peace to hold the overall effort together.

Hank was a great guy and he will be missed.

JB left an lasting impression on many of us that will not be soon forgotten.

How true that is...I loved his common sense, his great sense of humor, his creativity and his patriotism.

God bless Jackelope Breeder.

We'll miss you, friend.
