Hollywood, CA (BANG) - Jodie Foster split from her long-term lover because the actress was having an affair, it has been reported.
Jodie - who recently separated from Cydney Bernard after 14 years together - is alleged to have been seeing another woman, who she met on the set of her 2007 movie 'The Brave One'.
Cydney is said to have been left "devastated" after discovering 45-year-old Jodie was romancing producer and screenwriter Cindy Mort, 51.
A source told National Enquirer magazine: "The affair heated up last year and the pair have been quietly seeing each other since then."
Despite separating, Jodie - who has two children - and Cydney are still living together, but the 'Silence of the Lambs' star plans to move out in the near future.
The source added: "Although she and Cydney remain under the same roof at the moment, the relationship has been shattered. They'll continue to raise the boys together and try to keep a loving family unit despite their break-up. The love is gone."
Cindy has two children with her ex-partner, actress Melanie Mayron, who she remains close friends with. The pair live a few doors down from one another on the same street in Los Angeles.
She’s a very successful, and sought after, director now.

Um, assuming facts not in evidence. Foster doesn’t necessarily hate men; she just doesn’t date them.
But we need a shortstop - we really do!
I know 2 lesbian couples with kids.
1 couple one is clearly the “man” of the relationship and is complete bitter and overbearing man hating woman, I feel for her son.. he’s going to wind up warped, there is little hope for him.
The other couple are a bit more normal personalities, one is clearly the more masculine of the two, but hardly a man hating bull dyke. While I don’t agree with their decision to have children (sorry I just do feel a child needs a father, especially boys) their son seems to be pretty well adjusted.

I wouldn't assume she hates men. I've got friends who are lesbians and they're not all misandrist feminazis.
Sometimes they just like women. We have several lesbian-raised kids in Boy Scouts in the Council. I guess they figure it is a good male influence or something.

I guess it’s good that they have SOME male influence in their life. I’m not the type to tell people how to live their life, but really don’t like the idea of same-sex couples raising kids.
Neither do I but they do. It’s just something we have to deal with.
