Hollywood, CA (BANG) - Jodie Foster split from her long-term lover because the actress was having an affair, it has been reported.

Jodie - who recently separated from Cydney Bernard after 14 years together - is alleged to have been seeing another woman, who she met on the set of her 2007 movie 'The Brave One'.

Cydney is said to have been left "devastated" after discovering 45-year-old Jodie was romancing producer and screenwriter Cindy Mort, 51.

A source told National Enquirer magazine: "The affair heated up last year and the pair have been quietly seeing each other since then."

Despite separating, Jodie - who has two children - and Cydney are still living together, but the 'Silence of the Lambs' star plans to move out in the near future.

The source added: "Although she and Cydney remain under the same roof at the moment, the relationship has been shattered. They'll continue to raise the boys together and try to keep a loving family unit despite their break-up. The love is gone."

Cindy has two children with her ex-partner, actress Melanie Mayron, who she remains close friends with. The pair live a few doors down from one another on the same street in Los Angeles.

Cindy Mort looks like she belongs in Mortville (obscure John Waters reference - Desparate Living).

Messes with your head, don’t it? I almost had to stop watching Tom Selleck after his Friend’s appearance. (It was Friend’s where he kissed another guy, wasn’t it?) Luckily, that’s the only instance I know of, so he’s not off my list - yet.

I guess it was time for Jodie to trade her in for a newer model. How like a man.

I think the culture, the feminist ideology, by now in the water we all drink, promote lesbianism, as they promote pederasty. Nothing overt, no, but the war against boys and men rages on. I thought about it the other day, how pederasty has been declared perfectly normal, and complimenting a woman on her looks a crime (at least within the corporate world, if you’ve ever gone through compulsory sexual harassment training.) Other than that, many women in power, such as an actress successful since her teens, have no use for men. My opinion.

Melanie Mayron, always wondered why or how she basically disappeared from show business. Very cute girl, very good actress....one of the only reasons I ever watched THIRTYSOMETHING about a decade or so ago.....She did a movie (wrote, produced) some years earlier that got some attention, prophetically titled “Girlfriends” IIRC.
Can somebody post a picture of her?

No. Not physically, not biologically. But why let a little thing like TRUTH get in the way of an agenda?

I know he kissed some guy on some show. I didn’t want to see it whatever show it was! It would have ruined him for me as an actor forever to see that!

This is put on full display for all to see in the 2007 Columbia Classics release The Jane Austen Book Club, which features the daughter of a divorced couple (Jimmy Smits and Amy Brenneman) who just happens to be a Lesbian that has two affairs in various segments of the film. What could have been a pleasant rental from Netflix turned into a Hollywood Public Service Announcement from G.L.A.A.D..

...I concur with your opinion and sentiments.

Color me surprised - I thought Jodie Foster’s long-term partner was a turkey baster!

It's a regular Isle of Lesbos out there!

I know of two or three fuzz bumpers that got tired of their aging partner and switched back over to a partner with an outy instead of an inny.

Aw, how cute. Not.

Few things in life are more repulsive than a withered up lesbo proudly parading her perversion in public.

Tom Selleck played a gay reporter in the Kevin Kline flick In and Out, and he kissed Kline in one scene.

I forgot she was in it.

That's because it was Sissy Spacek.
