At least one of Britain's birds appears to be coping well as climate change alters the availability of a key food.
Researchers found that great tits are laying eggs earlier in the spring than they used to, keeping step with the earlier emergence of caterpillars.
Writing in the journal Science, they point out that the same birds in Holland have not managed to adjust.

Dickcissel or yellow-rumped warbler?
(I can’t believe I just asked someone that question.)

You don’t like it when they just say “I’ll owe you one”?

The tame ones like to be petted. I don't think there are any truly tame ones, but with skilled handling they can be very friendly.

Yellow-rumped warbler. A first in my birdwatching log. My husband is an amateur photographer who loves sunsets and sunrises(who doesn’t). so while he is checking his lighting, compass, angles and everything else I’m scouring for birds. We also watched for quite a while an apple tree in blossom filled with cedar waxwings. There was at least a dozen of them having breakfast in that tree.

LOL! I knew it was a lily ping as soon as I saw the title. Did you know Great Tits and Blue Tits form mixed winter flocks? They’re all part of the Tit family.

This article, and possibly the research itself, Had to be done with the double entendre headline in mind.

LOL... why the “sigh”? What a wonderful research project.

I was just reminded by a picture of that famous bird, Kathy Ireland, in a tropical scene that I’m not very surprised by the findings of this research project.

The yellow-rumped warbler is a beautiful bird. And I think we can all be happy that (in good light) it looks nothing like Post #69. :)
