Why?
Would lack of purchase of gas on Thursdays limit the consumption of gasoline or inhibit the offset purchases on Fridays?
No.
Meaningless gesture.
And, foolish, as gas prices are generally at their lowest on Thursday mornings.
Just my thoughts.

Thoroughly debunked as a concept every single time gas prices go up.

Actually there is something I do. I buy gas at the grocery store which is exactly on the way home from work. I buy exactly four gallons. No more - no less. I use a ATM / Check card so it does have a positive ID on the sale.
If a goodly percentage of the population started buying exactly 4 gallons a pop it would get a little crowded at the station BUT it would send a strong message that folks are starting to band together on this issue.

Yeah, Gas stations will go bankrupt if you fill up on Wednesday or Friday instead.

Here is a message for them: Let us all fill our gas tanks on a specific day. That way my 457, Roth, and pension will increase!

All that would do is give the employees at the gas station a day to sit around between the rush days on Wednesday and Friday.
It would be far more useful to boycott driving on Thursday and not make up the miles on other days. At least that would reduce national gasoline usage.

What would buying exactly 4 gallons accomplish other than not giving me time to wash my windows while filling and making me go to the gas station every week instead of every 2 1/2 to 3? It might tell them we’ve banded together, but it would also tell them we’ve banded together for the simple point of banding together not to actually do anything.

Yeah, by all means wait ‘til Friday...when it’s ten cents more a gallon. Stick it to the man!

Ah, the boycott buying gas thread is back.

Don’t gas stations pay for employees on days when there are not any sales. And all the trucks on the doc have a harder time filling tankers? Stricle(spell?) affect...

“Don’t buy gas on Thursday.”
And one other thing.
Google “Miserable Failure”
And post a thread on the results when you do.
We’re all anxiously awaiting the results.
