I pretty much agree with Simon. The song choices tonight have been somewhat disappointing.

I like his reply: Why (Cheat and) sing something I’ve already done!

Yeah - the fix is in. I’m buyin’ Cook’s album. I don’t watch Nickelodeon, so fortunately, I’ll never really see much more of Monchichi’s career.

I agree, I thought he won round 2 as well.

I also liked his comment about why do a song he's already done! I wasn't crazy about the last song, but I think its great that he didn't repeat, like so many do.

This is making me sick.

It's making me sick, too, and the show isn't even on here yet. But it seems from your updates that the judges are pimping hard for Archuletta. Oh well. I keep saying that AI hasn't had a successful winner since Carrie. If Archuletta wins, I feel confident that streak will continue.

In any case, the Sony-BMG-19 people have already said they're signing both Davids.

They keep advertising a horrible one with the Asian girl from 90210 that has some kind of paranormal theme. I keep thinking, “This looks so stupid!” but I’ll probably watch it. LOL

I think he choked up because of his brother.

I am no fan at all of Monchicchi, but his first two songs were definitely not boring. He put emotion and feeling into songs that he has not done so before. Granted Clive what’s his face set up Monchichci with a better song choice to start the show, but Cook has not stepped up to the plate.

Only I’m torn because the one where Kate Jackson kidnaps Tracey Gold’s child is on, too. I saw a great one on Sunday with Tori Spelling...Hush.

agreed. the guitar takes away from his performance.

i thought simon was right that Chris Cornell’s rendition of Billie Jean would have been a better song for tonight. david c. made a good point that he didn’t want to sing a song that he had already done. and for that he will suffer an ultimate and humilating defeat. or maybe i’m just a little too invested in all this. : )

David Cook

Round #3 is singer's choice.

Cook chooses "The World I Know"--the unplugged version. He plays an acoustic guitar.

Between these two, Cook is clearly the more polished performer.

Excellent job! He tears up at the end.

Randy: You're showing people tonight a lot of different sides of David Cook. Very nice job, Dude. Very nice.

Paula: You're standing in your truth. You're delivering songs of integrity.

Simon: I want to say publicly that you are one of the nicest, most sincere contestants we've ever had. Completely the wrong song choice for you. (WHAT?--roaring boos from the audience) You should have chose Billie Jean or Hello.

Cook: The way I look at it, why do something I've already done?

The audience cheers. He has a point.

Next up will be Monchichi singing another predictable Monchichi song: Imagine.

I was thinking that, too. I saw some place (here maybe?) that he was flying out with private nurse to be at both shows.

He’s crying....

What an emotional deal this must be. I'll bet he's a sensitive guy, plus he has his brother's illness going on all at the same time.
