This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Yeah - No sense taking chances now, anyway...
Thanks on Bay, I’m fighting tooth and nail to keep him as young as I can! He’s my once in a lifetime horse. He’s still a lot of horse at 28 at I wouldn’t take him any other way, I don’t want to see him slow down. :~)
Ouch - I just realized something had happened to you and came back to find it. Hope you heal rapidly.
PS - vet wrap is great for people too - that’s what I did to my foot when the doctor wanted it in a boot.
I love that car :)
I love that shared look - another picture suitable for framing :)
It took me a long time to learn to listen to my gut feelings and I got conned a lot before that. Go with you feelings on the woman. The right person will show up.
Don't remember it happening at all, just looked down and my thumb was pointing back at me. Strange!
Jeez! Men and their cars! That's gonna hurt the ol' pocketbook!
Only if it's not your pinky! ;o)
Have you got the appointment today to have it looked at? Does it hurt now?
Couldn’t get one ‘til tomorrow at 12:45 so I’m gonna have to live with this clunky thing until then. It really doesn’t hurt, my fingers and hand are just swollen, what I can see of them. I’m hoping that they can replace it with something a little smaller because this one is really “sticking out like a sore thumb”! ;o)
...as the saying goes! ;~)
I bet typing is something of a challenge :~)
Should we not ask you complex-answer questions? :~)
I typed that whole long opus of a story telling about it with a cast on my hand, so I ain’t too bad off. I just have to point my thumb down and my elbow up. It’s kinda tiring on my left shoulder and you may have to excuse my spelling at times, but it coulda been worse.
I’ll tell him. It’s a man thing, but it is pretty, even if I’m not into muscle cars.
He called a minute ago and said he had gotten the part that broke off and was going to see if he could find one. Have to find old; not made anymore.
Maybe if he can fix it himself it won’t be too bad. There is a whole drive shaft lying in the floor under it right now. (I guess that’t what it is.)
$$$$$$$$$$$$
Ouch.
Yesterday when we got out of the last meeting Joanna checked her voice mail and her husband said the horses had gotten out of the pasture but he and my younger daughter had caught them and put them up already. I'm so glad I didn't know it till after the fact because I would have been throwing up as well as having a cold. Someone left a gate open in the field next door. (not us -:-o )0ur neighbor has been letting our horses graze his pasture, because he has no livestock. We'll have to make changes, obviously.
My husband was waiting in the living room for the younger daughter so they could go to church and saw something in the front yard and looked out and there they were. They had been all the way out on the main road and then come back home, because there was manure out on the asphalt. Aren't you glad sometimes you don't know about things until they are over?
Good Grief! That’s scary! Do you live on a busy road?
No, it’s not terribly busy. It’s a nice wide two lane, but sometimes it’s as much as ten minutes or so between cars, especially on weekends. I feel pretty comfortable riding along that road most of the time. And it’s not terribly curvy and there’s good visibility usually for a hundred yards or so between any curves. I’m just really thankful.
Well that’s good about the road. Doesn’t make you feel any better about the gate being left open, but at least no harm was done.
Maybe you can get your neighbor to let you put a chain and lock on that gate. I’ve always been nervous about having an unlocked gate facing a road because of the theft issue, or kids out causing mischief, but in your case it sounds like it was just plain old forgetfulness.
Having a cold at any time is no fun, but especially not in the springtime with all the pollen in the air to add insult to injury. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
Thanks! But a cold is not bad compared to a cast... hope you heal quickly and completely.
