The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)

I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

Last night I fell asleep with the tv on, which switches channels sometimes. I semi awoke and the Mexican station was on and it showed riders roping skills and how they would chase a horse and one would slide on its back and ride the horse ,bucking, while the other riders rode around the arena beside the horse. Weird. Maybe I just dreamed it.

And that’s the saving grace. :-) It sure is lovely. I’d take pictures, but I’m afraid that would make me too much of a nerd. :-) Vista is set up differently than XP, so I keep screwing things up such as closing windows and trying to use shortcuts that don’t exist. However, you do have the option to set it up so that you’re looking at an XP interface. That is nice. I haven’t had the problems that many were complaing about when Vista first came out. Perhaps the powers that be at Microsoft have worked them out. Because believe me, I was worried.

There were Mexican cowboys because when I woke up it was still on that station. I know that the rope demonstrations were real because I remember thinking how calm the horses were and after awhile.."ok guys..this is getting boring, yall gonna do anything else?". The rest might have been a dream. It was cool though:’)

Didn't mean to be a hit and run poster - we had to go out of town yesterday afternoon and I just drove back in.

Yeah. I’m rearranging my columns and changing color. Really cool. I’m still trying to figure out the new book mark though.

I sympathize - I feel like I’ve been working 24/7 too, although it’s just that we’re so short handled. Hope you get to the barn.

I’m back...sorry no pictures.

Harley did pretty good...looked around a lot, like he was seeing things for the first time. We ran into a herd of deer on the way out at the back of my property, and when we came back I could see them from the top of the hill grazing in my pasture, 4 of them.

I only had to get off one time to lead him around a fallen tree, there were other’s down on the trail, but I could get around them without dismounting.

Well, it sounds like a successful ride... Where’d you go that we’d remember? It’s been awhile since he’s been out there, so I’d expect him to look around a little.

Next time take the camera ;~\ I’d have liked to have seen the deer :~)

I did that loop that you and I and MissTargets went on, that crossed the creek, climbed the short steep hill on the other side.
