Thread Number 3
Hey - just reading about your father in law. Mercy - that must have been awful to go through. You really showed true grit dealing with it instead of letting your hubby do so given his heart health. God bless you for doing for your FIL as you did. It’s tough doing for our elders especially when they are not as pleasant as we would like for them to be.
Plus any more pictures or videos of baby Dannielynn are much appreciated.
If LB stays in Kentucky for a good while - I will be very glad about it! Want to know if there is legitimate news that he has gone to CA....with the baby....or if he is about to get married. WE have a right to have a sayso on any potential wife and mother of that baby, don't you think???? :-)
Glad that this thread's info about HYPOTHYROIDISM is benefitting you. Report in on what the Doc says/does if you care to do so. Hope this begins the beginning of good treatment for that condition if it is what you have.
Sorry it has been so debilitating and affecting the quality of your life so severely. That's no fun.
Twas I who posted the photos of the miniature rooms. Glad you enjoyed them. A hobby I once had. They are now decorating my dining room wall beside a mirror made of similar wood. The little lights - (candles, sconces, fireplace) are all able to be LIT up with the flip of a switch. Husband did the wiring. Then laid the floors, the wainscoating, the wallpaper, the paint, the windows. I added all the little treasures....through the years. As I said it took a year to complete them all and was a labor of love because it was fun to create a "period" set of rooms.
Was just wondering if anyone has heard or read any news on the whereabouts of Howie?
Still very sick - can’t breathe - can’t type.
Wanted to post what I saw on the TV tabs today, so I don’t forget. The Insider and ET had Anna movie part about in Hard Rock room and dying now.
Ford as Anna was in bed, on top of covers, wearing kind of a kimono. Tas was the big hero who noticed something wrong - there is no Brigitte in this version.
AND, Howie is in the room at the same time and starts going nutz to call 9-1-1 and get the ambulance.
Obviously, this is a fictionalized account.
And Inside Edition was mostly about Larry having his camera at the Derby - and some clips of him with various blonde ladies - most notably both Barnstable twins at the Derby in their fabu hats. They made reference at some point that he had squired Patricia (the widow Brown) over the weekend, not sure when.
Then, one of the shows, an ET one, kept showing another blonde lady with her hair up and wearing a dark blue dress. They said Larry left the Barnstable party with her on Friday night.
I couldn’t tell if it was the same person as either of the twins, without hat and with hair different - but they’re older than I am - and I’m old enough to be Larry’s mother - and not just in Anna’s family. He said she is a friend and “supporter.” (I wondered if it’s the Schilling family member whose house he’s borrowing.)
He said he had to blow the dust off his lens but it felt good to be snapping pix again, especially at Derby - they had rejected a story of his long ago and now he was an invited guest - he liked the irony.
He said he had his cell glued to his hand and called the nanny all through the time he was away, to check on Dannielynn.
One of them asked him if he was sad about Derby and relating it to missing Anna - he said he caught some of the footage over the weekend that he “had never seen before” and watched it with family (what’d I tell y’all? - how embarrassing!). Said yeah, made him sad, but he had been coming to Derby parties and covering Derby long before he met Anna.
OK, I hafta lie back down now. Or halfway down, anyway - all the way down and my nose clogs up even worse than this. More posting when I can.
Daniel's body should be re-examined before the inquest. The boy was murdered.
I wish I’d been able to do better by him, though. My husband worked, and still works, long hours, and my kids were only 5 and 9 at the time, so I was busy with them and their activities, as well as caring for our 3 acres. Less than 2 days before he died, my husband had had a day off and I had scheduled a doctor’s appointment for FIL as we were worried about him. We went downstairs to help him finish getting ready in time, only to find him at his kitchen table, NOT ready to go. He told us he decided he wasn’t going to the doctor( and a few other things) and he’d be carried out of there in a pine box. I had had it, and got angry and yelled at him and told him what was on my mind, and my husband backed me up. Hubby knew how things were, and took me out for a ride in the car and decided we needed a little distance from FIL for a bit. We had both been stressed for some time and it was a strain on the marriage and the kids. Just a week earlier I had taken him to a hospital so he could get a steroid injection in his spine, and had to take the kids with me. When we returned home, FIL had a bathroom accident, and I cleaned up the, uh, liquid on his floor and chair while he yelled at me for using his paper towels to do so. There were other incidents and we just were getting not to be able to handle it too well. Sigh.
One Saturday morning I had returned from my son’s first baseball game and heard no signs of life in the apartment. I found his door locked and looked in the windows and saw no lights. Got the key and went in, and saw the bathroom door shut so knew he was in there. Oh was I scared! Finally sucked it up to open the door, then ran outside to compose myself, telling the kids to stay upstairs. Made the phone calls and took care of things , then cleaned the bathroom after the funeral home removed him and manaaged to keep hubby calm. So, I have some bad memories but am thankful my husband nor my kids saw what I saw:) I guess after handling the crises of hubby having his heart attacks and needing to make big decisions fast, I learned a few things.
Thanks for the kind words, but I was not the saint others I have known have been, like my Grandma. I keep striving, though:)
Rte, don’t worry about keeping up here and just try to get better. Thanks for the yeoman’s effort and report!
‘You knows’. . . let’s see, HKS, Missus Clinton and today’s top rap ‘star’ use an extraordinary number of them.
In September when the interview occurred, I was paying no attention to this case. Since that time, I have come to the same conclusion as you. I have doubts that re-examining poor Daniel’s body after the DELAYS would provide insight into the cause of death, but hopefully the witnesses and information gleaned at the Bahamian autopsy will bring justice for Daniel.
You’re welcome and THANK YOU for posting the beautiful pictures!
I agree with gopheraj, in addition to the typical TSH test, you should also request a TEST for your Free T4, Free T3, and Antibodies. If you have Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism, the typical ‘thyroid’ test (TSH) will not usually detect it. Also, the ‘ranges’ for hypo and hyper thyroidism were changed in 2003, and some doctors are not aware of the changes. For more information on the changes, please go to this site: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art31686.asp
Another site with a lot of information is http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
Good Luck!
I just read that Larry King interview with HKS again, and I noticed this part:
KING: OK. I want to ask you about this. A tabloid claims that Anna Nicole needed money and therefore sold photos of Daniel and his baby half-sister to pay for the funeral.
STERN: When we had all the media outcry after Daniel passed, there’s literally been photographers camped across the street, driving back and forth, camera crews. And we decided that if we release those images, which told a story of a joyous night, that it was going to be a good thing and we were going to do it to create a “Daniel Wayne Smith Charitable Foundation”. So she hasn’t profited from those images. You know, those images were used or are going to be — she hasn’t received any money yet. Obviously, the funeral is going to take place long before any money comes from that.
It’s just, that’s the media attacking her when she’s down. And I just think that if — if anybody understood what it felt like to lose a child and then to have the media just come after them, I think that the media would make maybe different decisions.
I just think when Anna’s involved, for some reason people, they don’t have any empathy or compassion. They just go into attack mode, even when she suffers a horrible, horrible tragedy. And it’s wrong.
KING: So there is a foundation that when the money is received, it will go to charitable goods?
STERN: Well, we are creating the foundation. And it’s probably, you know, when we find out what the cause of Daniel’s death was, it’s going to be used to further whatever that is.

Well, what ever happened to the “Daniel Wayne Smith Charitable Foundation”??? Why is there no accountability for that OR FOR the “Dannielynn Trust” that HKS set up with the proceeds from Anna’s funeral? That is absolute LARCENY!! There is no evidence of a FUND for Daniel or a TRUST for Dannielynn!! That ASSHOLE HKS has pocketed all of that money, and apparently, that is just FINE with all of the authorities, in the Bahamas, and the U.S.! That makes me sick!!
Also, if anyone here has access to Larry Birkhead’s email address, please let us know, because I believe that everyone of us should send him the link to the HKS/Larry King interview! Just so, he doesn’t forget WHO he is dealing with!! AND WHAT that A-Hole said about him while he LIED about being the father of Dannielynn!!
(Smiling)...Well, I really don’t know what to say, except that I think I can now see how you are able to be so unjudgmental! LOL! You definitely seem like a very caring person, and your behavior upon finding your FIL is evident of that. It takes a strong caring person to be able to deal with those circumstances, so that your husband and children would not have to see it. (Honestly, I couldn’t do it myself.) I think that is very admirable of you (and loving, especially in the case of your husband’s heart condition). Also, even though your FIL was difficult and grumpy (and told everyone he was ‘only leaving in a pine box’), he probably appreciated your family in his own way, and just wasn’t one to show it.
******OK, I do understand that this may not be true either, but, please let me have my ‘little fantasy’ that SOMETHING good came out of your experience. First of all, you did a REALLY nice thing that many people (myself included) could not do (by sparing your husband the sight of his dad’s death). And second of all, even if your FIL was a total pain in the butt, he probably ‘appreciated’ something about you and your family (even if he hardly ever showed it).
Anyway you look at it, you are a STAR for being so considerate of your husband and your children, so kudos to you for that!
Thanks for the retelling of those events. Took some gumption to do so. Heart tugs in reading about it all. Am sure your patience was just exhaused on the events two days before your FIL died. I imagine you indeed had been better equipped to handle finding him and all that went with it after going through your hubby’s heart attack and all associated with that. You have been through a lot. Surviving all thta is in itself a victory.
I used blue and white ticking on the basement windows. Ordered from countrycurtains.com. mom4kittys recommended blue and white and that’s what i really wanted to do to begin with but as the room progressed i realized that probably wasn’t gonna work. The green/black countertop was the killer to that idea. I looked for a blue granite countertop but the price of that is astronomical. Then one day when i wasn’t home they put these copper/bronze accent tiles on the backsplash. So all of a sudden it got really fancy in there. My whole New Orleans kitchen theme was out the window.
I did go with a small floral print. Kind of a mint green background with little brown birds, some yellow, and little pinkish/coral roses. Pretty cute. Who knows maybe i’ll hate them when they’re up and just go with the blue and white idea after all. Throw caution to the wind!
Yeah. Had to crack the manual to remember how to wind the bobbin and thread the machine. So far no bobbin trouble (knock knock).
Good luck ont he curtains. I didnt know these were so hard to find today - havent had to look for them in a long while.
They really are hard to find if you want them to have any character. JCP Custom Decorating is the only option i was left with besides doing it myself and i don't feel like spending a fortune this week and then waiting a month for my curtains. Altho i may have to resort to them for the living room because everywhere you go all you see is Dupioni Silk. Pottery Barn, Crate&Barrel, JCP, Bed Bath and Beyond. That's all they've got. Which might be ok if they had it in more than just a few colors. Anyway things in the kitchen are progressing. As for the living room, "i'll think about that tomorrow".
IMO, no one gives a sh_t about this since Larry has the baby. If Larry tries to investigate it, then fine. If not then fine also. AS LONG AS THE EVIL VIRGIE DOESN'T HAVE A HAND IN ANYTHING. (last was a sarcasm)
The curtain material sounds lovely! The blue/white ticking would not look good with your countertops, but would look great in a sunroom, spare bedroom, etc. Fresh and clean look.
