Thread Number 3
That's what i had envisioned to begin with, but we ended up getting greenish black granite countertops and so i decided to go with green curtains instead. And this way is good too because it allows me to not have to reupholster the kitchen chairs.
Your little rooms are precious!
I bought a Brother sewing machine a couple of years ago, and finally took it out of the box recently. My stepdaughter used it, and now I have to find my seam ripper to undo all the improperly wound thread :( Supposed to be an auto bobbin threader, but haven’t used it. Sewing could be the way to go.
Hmmm, bright yellow? I’m thinking a small floral pattern. Tangerine or peach, or maybe red and blue flowers? Not sure what your favorite colors are, but blue and white “ticking” could be a good option.
It’s your house, you should be picky :)
All I can say is wow! You’ve done a beautiful job, and the details are so perfect. It’s none of my business, but I can’t help but think they set you back a pretty penny.
Thank you for sharing the pictures with us :)
Beautiful room. I love that style of chair.
I thought Anna and crew were supposed to leave on the boat Friday, the day after she died.
I’d read the standing orders if Anna were to OD or something were for house employees to take her to the hospital rather than calling an ambulance or 911. I do think Taz realized Anna had probably just died, and she obviously couldn’t get Anna to the hospital herself, then Moe came, and I think they all just didn’t know what to do and could see it was probably too late. My father-in-law lived in a small apartment we’d built for him on the basement level of our house, and one Saturday I found him dead in his bathroom. It was not pretty and I could see he was dead and had been for some time- rigor, etc. I did call 911 as I wasn’t sure what else I was supposed to do..... Believe it or not, he had died sometime in the night, probably as he ws getting ready for bed, and we were upstairs and went to bed and didn’t even know it. I have felt some guilt all these years, but there would have been nothing we could have done.
Oh, wow! What a treat! Thank you so much for posting them and pinging me, so they’re on my comments page.
I love them! I will write more when I feel better. Can’t sit up much, no breath. Maybe OK in a day or two. Love them, thank you!
I’ve been busy doing yard work and painting, so have missed a lot. What’s this about a life story and movie being made about Daniel and Anna? Was this news today?
I don’t think Anna was on chloral hydrate when Daniel died, but there’s no info public to prove that either way. I also don’t think Howard gave Daniel the methadone, but we also have to wait and see. I have one or two little theories, but they are just about pure speculation, as is most everything we’re talking about these days, and I’m too wiped out to write much more tonight:)
I just have a hard time buying that she was a hostage. She saw people and talked to them, she went out shopping ( an article in a Bahamian newspaper mentioned her going to the mall), she went on boat rides and went to a regatta, she travelled to the US at least a few times, she emailed, she talked to Ford Shelley and others, Shane Gibson and his family were frequent visitors, etc, etc.
Beautiful work! I know hardly anything about these room boxes, but find them pretty fascinating. Thanks for the pictures.
I was just looking for my grape juice after reading your post, and it’s all gone, lol! Had a craving.
I didn’t know the Ramen packets had much protein in them at all. If they do, I’ll have to get some. I need more protein, and would like to get some whey protein powder, as long as it comes from US critters and not China..... I eat a ton of Morningstar Farm’s products, not because I’m a soy freak but just because I like them. I’m wondering where all their ingredients come from.
” No one has answered this question: “Was Daniel tested for Chloral Hydrate?”
Great question, Sac!! Apparently the results of the autopsy that was done in the Bahamas will not be released until the inquest, provided it ever takes place. I found the following editorial here on FreeRepublic. As you can see from the title, it says NO testing for Chloral Hydrate done on Daniel’s tissues.
I would assume some of Daniel’s tissues were saved due to the suspicious nature of his death. I certainly hope that is the case. If not, perhaps its time for Daniel to be exhumed by order of his father, Billy Smith.
AUTOPSY: DANIEL’S TISSUES NOT TESTED FOR CHLORAL HYDRATE
Editorial

Mar 31 2007
Dr. Joshua Perper, the chief medical examiner in Broward County in Florida, said he would have never sent Anna’s tissues out for testing for Chloral Hydrate because the drug is such an antiquated sleeping aid. As a matter of course, he said, coroners just don’t check for it anymore. The only reason he tested for it is that a bottle of the drug was found on the scene of the death.

Anna Nicole’s remains would not have yielded the chloral hydrate in her system if the bottle had not been found on the scene of her death. Dr. Wecht did not test Daniel’s tissue for the presence of chloral hydrate. Dr. Wecht tested for and discovered traces of the drugs that were found in the hospital room where he died.

As you’ve pointed out in the past, the time frame is almost identical in both cases. Daniel was up helping his Mom to the bathroom and within 2 1/2 hours he was dead. So strange how HKS checked the artery in Daniel’s neck, almost immediately. Very bizarre, imho.
I agree with you about Sleepy not being an indication of impending death.
So sorry you’re not feeling well. Did you get lots of wind the past few days? Sometimes the wind stirs up all kind of things, making it difficult to breath.
You might be right about the Friday departure time. I was thinking it was Thursday evening with an arrival on Friday morning, but I could be wrong.
Its odd that she was not taken to the hospital considering how ill she had been all week. Lately I’ve been thinking about the participants state of mind. Since they had already been through Daniel’s untimely and shocking death, I would think they would have not taken no for an answer from Anna. They would have instead, just loaded her up and taken her to the nearest hospital on the first night when she had the 105 temp, or when they found her in an empty bathtub - or when she fell in the tub and etc.
By Thursday she was still sick enough to require help to even go to the bathroom. Something was horrible wrong. How did she go into another room and find the Chloral Hydrate in a duffle bag without assistance? The dosage of CH found in her tissues was extremely lethal and was taken just a few hours before her death. HKS admits being there during that time frame.
So sorry to hear about your experience of finding your father-in-law dead in your home. That must have been a tramatic ordeal for you and your entire family. I can also understand the guilt you felt, even though you had no way of knowing he was in trouble and in need of your help. Thanks for sharing. It made me think about how frantic it must have been for Taz to find Anna either dead or close to it.
Perhaps there would not be the amount of suspicion over Anna’s death, if Daniel hadn’t died in a similar manner, a mere 5 months prior to his mom’s death. Most people weren’t suspicious of Daniel’s death, until hearing the news of Anna’s death. Having said that, I have to add it was rather suspicious when Daniel’s inquest was cancelled by Munroe, one of HKS’s lawyers, prior to Anna’s death.
I’m sorry about your father in law, and understand how you must have felt. I would have felt guilty and bad about it as well. But, as you said, there is nothing anyone could have done, and you should not feel bad about it. If anything, you and your husband should feel happy that you welcomed your father-in-law into your home in his last years, and you were all able to enjoy those years together! That is a very nice thing to hear these days, and it makes me feel happy for your father-in-law!
Well, father-in-law was never a happy kind of person in the years I knew him, unfortunately. He was plagued with severe back problems in the last years and had a lot of pain, which tended to make him grumpy. In fact, husband and I often discussed HIS use of prescription meds, lol! After he died, I found a bag FULL of bottles of meds in his closet. I sorta think he hoarded them. He needed good ones for relief, however.
Anyway, thanks for the nice thoughts. We tried. He did have an untreatable anuerysm in his coronary artery which probably finally burst that night. I never let my husband see his body when he came home after I called him. The police and paramedics were there, too. Husband has had 5 heart attacks and 2 bypass surgeries, and I felt he couldn’t have handled the way my FIL looked, sitting there unclothed on the bathroom floor.
It was pretty traumatic, finding my first (and I hope last) dead person, and hard on the rest of us for thinking we should have known or done something. In another sense, it was a relief, as our kids were small and Grandpa had been quite difficult to deal with in those last weeks.
With Anna, I suppose having a physician(KE) right on premises gave Howard and Anna herself a false sense of security. Perhaps if KE had insisted she go to the hospital, Anna may have relented.
I’m still puzzled as to where exactly in the hotel suite the chloral hydrate was. We don’t know if the brownish liquid in a partly covered jar on one night stand was CH, or if all the CH was in a duffel bag in another room. The autopsy/scene reports said the chloral hydrate was near Anna. When Dr. Perper said in one interview it was in a duffel bag, perhaps he was confused as he didn’t have his reports with him to refer to. Perhaps Anna had taken her usual CH dose hours earlier, then just took another dose, either her usual dose (which was high) or a “swig” if the CH WAS near her, thinking it was OK to do so as time had elapsed between doses and not knowing it had built up in her body. Maybe when Howard was in the shower, Anna took the extra CH, either from the bottle or something on the night stand or she did go into the other room. If Moe had left and Howard was in the shower, or had just left, I do think Anna could have easily gone into the other room. She wasn’t immobile, just sorta weak. She was getting around and doing better.
As to Daniel, I WAS very puzzled by his death, much moreso than by Anna’s. He COULD have gotten hold of the methadone in several ways. He could have gotten it from the Calif. house, and if Anna was as careless with her pills as it seems she was, there could have been leftover pills in that house. He could have taken them from her, as a few reports have suggested happened in the past. Or, the other main theory is he got it from the hospital room, either from Anna directly or Howard, or accidentally in a drink. Hopefully we’ll know soon enough. The only reason ANS or Stern would have given Daniel methadone, that I can see, would be if he had complained of a headache or back pain or the like. There have been no reports of him complaining of any pain that night/morning, however.
I’m rambling and very tired, and tend to write too much when I’m tired, lol!
Thanks - Am glad you enjoy them.
We did these - about 15 years ago....back when I had time (no internet, no Clinton to fight, LOL) and enough money to fund a hobby like that.
Thanks, yes I love it too. I don’t know all about furniture - those who do make some beautiful rooms to perfection. Like the Thorne Rooms and so many others. The furniture in these rooms, except for the Captain’s room desk and chair, came from one vendor and were reasonably priced back then....relatively speaking. The little desk and chair in the Captain’s room cost as much as real furniture costs.....eek. But it was worth it because they are artistic treasures. And, no, I wouldn’t spend money like that on miniatures today.
