I don't cook much but would like to contribute something I am given by relatives and put in freezer and eat on all year through....I receive several from a dutiful cook in our family.....

More interesting info on chloral hydrate ...

It is a byproduct of water chlorination and is quite caustic.

If you INJECT it you run the very high probability of an ABSCESS forming. It is NOT injected when administered properly..it is either oral or in a suppository.

One wonders if ANS's upset tummy was protesting drugs orally (vomiting as reported) and someone (????) got the bright idea to draw chloral hydrate up into one of the syringes and giving her a shot instead of shoving capsules up the backside.

As noted, chloral hydrate does not get along with human skin or tissue and it probably burned like fire and immediately started going the wrong way with the result being an abscess.

If so, ANS would be reluctant to go to the hospital and fess up she was shooting up sleep meds improperly or let it get out she had a big pussy abscess on her bum.

Wow, there's some good looking stuff on that site. I liked steak and kidney pie when I was a kid. Used to come in a large pie sized tin. Haven't seen it in years. Didn't see it on that site, but the Spotted Dick(what an unfortunate name) sounds promising.

Speaking of Spotted Owl, I cut out a Hamburger Helper parody of Spotted Owl helper, and stuck it on the ice box. This was years ago. I suppose you could marinate one in red wine and lots of garlic. If they're anything like horned or barn owls, you could probably feed several people off of it. We had one fly by our living room window, and its wing span blocked out all the remaining light coming in through the window.

Funeral Potatoes are a potato casserole that people take over to other people's houses when there is a death in the family. They're basically frozen hash browns topped with green onions, cheese, a cream soup, sour cream, then my favorite part - buttered corn flakes on top which taste like fried chicken when it's all baked.

I'm vaguely remembering that Moe said that KR had left Anna the day before and was going back to her practice. If that is a correct memory, it puts KE's story about "Anna didn't want me to leave" gives the whole leaving scenario a whole different perpective because they had ALL (Anna, KE and Howard) been living in the Bahamas.

Damn, I have to go back and take a look if and when Moe said that.

And why did KE call the night she got to Ca AND in the morning, too. To check on Anna like she said OR to instruct Howard.

Seems that reporters lurking about Horizons would see or hear dogs during 'potty break'. Cats would be more difficult to detect.
