More interesting info on chloral hydrate ...
It is a byproduct of water chlorination and is quite caustic.
If you INJECT it you run the very high probability of an ABSCESS forming. It is NOT injected when administered properly..it is either oral or in a suppository.
One wonders if ANS's upset tummy was protesting drugs orally (vomiting as reported) and someone (????) got the bright idea to draw chloral hydrate up into one of the syringes and giving her a shot instead of shoving capsules up the backside.
As noted, chloral hydrate does not get along with human skin or tissue and it probably burned like fire and immediately started going the wrong way with the result being an abscess.
If so, ANS would be reluctant to go to the hospital and fess up she was shooting up sleep meds improperly or let it get out she had a big pussy abscess on her bum.
Interesting thought (BTW welcome to the best thread on ANS on the internet)... I can imagine HKS would be hard put to actually tell Perper if they administered it to her in that manner.
But I still don't hold to the absess story. If it's true, again, then ALL the team Stern people were lying - and that includes Stern, KE, Moe, Taz, and Brigitte. Of course their lying is not beyond belief....but it would be so brazen since they certainly would assume that the autopsy would discover the absess....why would they all lie instead of speaking in all their interviews about this absess, infection? They did speak about the antibiotics and the fever - but not the absess. It would be impossible to ignore in the autopsy.
