The excavations have uncovered the remains of a block of houses, covering an area of 40 x 12 metres, although the whole city is said to have covered more than six hectares. Kitchen utensils and dishes have also been discovered intact. The site is what remains of the Phoenician city of Las Chorreras, founded in the 8th century BC, and abandoned a hundred years later.

Thanks for the ping to this and other threads.

Seems ancient cities thought to be lost forever are showing up in droves!

Lot's of discoveries being made.

I should have kept up my studies and become an archeologist.

I've alway been drawn to ancient history.

I was watching a program on TV about Atlantis, (No not SG-Atlantis!) But about some archeologist who have been doing some research, and the possibly finding of the lost continent.

If it ever existed, the find would be the archeology story of not the century but the mellenium!

Heh... Atlantis has been found a lot in the past hundred years. :') I've seen modern interest attributed to Ignatius Donnelly, author of "Atlantis, the Antediluvian World".

Know where Atlantis is?

It's anyplace you want it to be.

It's a figment of the imagination and I believe it to be the invention of the Greek philosopher Plato as a lesson in morality and in what happens to a society that has grown arrogant in its ways.

Some people hate hitting their head against a wall because it hurts.

Others like it, because it feels so good when they stop.
