Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Then world behind and home ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Happy travels to you folks! And best of luck to Clare - it's always a little hard to start on a new episode in life, even a good one.
BTW, if you have an extra Hobbit Hole knife...so far as I know, Kate's oldest brother is a Marine...though maybe he's out now, I can't remember!
I should write Therese one of these days. It's been too long.
To: ExGeeEye
Speaking of which, the writing on mine begins to fade (it does get used). Any recommendation, other than revert to my Swiss Army knife? Is yours one of the early CRKT Samsons? If so, the coating that is fused into the steel is starting to wear off. There will still be the original tiny pixels burned into the steel itself. The coating is to provide contrast.
I'm glad to hear the knife is being put to work.

Yep. 60mg generic pseudoephedrine pills. He got these two hugh sealed bottles from the same place that he got the pyrex beaker for free...it's a kind of storage place that they keep stuff till, uh...
...
they don't need it as evidence any more. And it did the trick in a GREAT WAY! I'd been suffering for days from the sinus headache and it went away and didn't come back. Yes, it made me extremely irritable and jumpy so I countered that with a Benadryl last night and slept fine.

I'm SO glad that you got rid of your sinus headache! As I said yesterday, those are the worst. I've got no empirical evidence, mind you, but I just can't imagine that having all that stuff festering in your head can be good for your overall health.
To: osagebowman
Ewwww!
Festering is such a nasty word.
Good morning ~sip~
I just got called thick headed on another thread, though not to my face. I prefer "hard headed"...
And now have Cat Stevens singing in my head.
To: osagebowman
I agree!
I always have postnasal drip...always. It's allergy related and very annoying. I think when I did all that diving it just got everything mad! LOL
I got to thinking last night that I don't think I've done *any* real deep (12') diving since I lost my hearing...I just didn't think about it bothering me. (The first time I rode a roller coaster afterward, I paid close attention...but I did just fine.)
I'll probably take another one here in a bit, just to be on the safe side. Just half of one, because I have it under control.

My niece, in New Orleans... Speaking of New Orleans. If everything works out with time off, I'll be going on a short-term missions project to assist with the continuing post-Katrina cleanup this November.
Hopefully the trolls will sign off on this sometime this week.

Good on ya, Corin. I'm sure the help has been harder and harder to get down there, as it becomes less fresh in people's minds.

Thanks. I've tried to go a couple of times before, but it just hasn't worked out.
This'll be in the middle of rehearsals for Christmas, but they'll adapt.
'course it may mean I don't even get the pretzel line...

All I really know is New Orleans. We work with a missions group that's already established. I think basically what they've been doing is clearing out houses that were destroyed.
