The Hobbit Hole XXX - Then world behind and home ahead...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 06/28/2006 10:14:11 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Then world behind and home ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Will Jiffy Lube know enough to do stuff like that? Probably, I suppose.

Jiffy Lube will check all your fluids, and if the guy's actually skilled, as opposed to some high school kid that just got a job there, they might assess belts and hoses... but they won't look at your brakes.

I thought you meant you'd take it to Gig Harbor for the oil change, and ask them for the check on the other things at the same time.

Ah...I see. Yeah, that's probably a better idea, you're right.

If you want... otherwise, you can still go to Jiffy Lube, and go to GH anyway to have them check the brakes and etc.

Why is it that it's always when I'm trying to behave that I get in trouble? ;-)

Free to a good home: demon dog.

You'd think they'd try for a better picture, though it *is* hard to get animal eyes to come out OK.

That one was out of left field. You must wear the same punctuation as his ex or something :~)

Speaking of punctuation and that...you know what's really weird? I responded to the first post, right? That was JasonC. Now it says jasoncann...but they're apparently two different users, so it's not just that the name got changed.

Wha' happen?

I don't remember that, but my Mama used to make a really GOOD German Chocolate Cake. They aren't that hard. The best part for me was always the coconut-pecan filling. Makes me drool just thinking about it.

My niece, in New Orleans, started doing photography a few years ago; mostly portraits, and always in black and white. She's just phenomenal! A friend flew her to CA from Lousiana to do her wedding. Don't know if she did those in color; I'm thinking she did. She did a photo of her oldest daughter, Talia, once, and sent it into Jones Soda people. If they like the pictures, they'll put themon different flavored sodas. They put Talia's picture on their Green Apple soda one month!

To: RosieCotton; All
OK, we're off to FL at 5:30am to take Clare to college! Thankfully, we have a direct flight, so we can both sleep. I'll be sure and tell Kate's mom that I know you, Rosie!

Clare's finishing packing, and I have to wash some stuff by hand and put it in the dryer. Our washer died today. Great timing, huh? SirKit is gonna see if he can find the manual, or look on line for how to fix it. It's the switch that starts the spinning during the rinse cycle that's not working.

See y'all late Friday night or Saturday!
