Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Then world behind and home ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Speaking of which, the writing on mine begins to fade (it does get used). Any recommendation, other than revert to my Swiss Army knife?

GMTA...I actually thought of the phrase
...a secret that now only fire can tell...
while I was writing that.

BTW...haven't had a chance to ask about days off yet.
I did think of one downside, though...if it *does* turn out to need a lot of work, but is still within a reasonable price range for repairs...if they have to keep it overnight it could get tricky.
So there's that.
But I really would like to know for sure! I still wonder if what the last place told me was accurate - about the steering shimmy thing. If it's really, really expensive to fix...I guess I live with it. But it's awfully irritating.

Yikes. We've bought a generator, but it's not installed yet. *sigh*

I have that...should watch it!
I still haven't seen Season 1, though. Just two and the most recent.

Big'ol is a bigger addict than me, I think. Heheee

Did you do that to him? ;-)

One 60 mg pill? Wow... the kind they sell here is a 30 mg pill, but the "standard dose" is 2 pills, so it amounts to 60 mg.
I take that every morning before work... otherwise I get a sinus headache by afternoon, usually.

Heh. I can't take Sudafed. One dose of Sudafed and I can't get to sleep for 3 nights.

...if they have to keep it overnight it could get tricky. Yes and no.... we've got two trucks sitting here not being used most days that you could use one of.
Evening, we've been out having steaks and pints :~D

I'd hate to impose...but I guess you're right.
But ya know...the light's only coming on when I brake suddenly or when I go around curves. Maybe it's just a slight bit low on fluid. Maybe I can stall for awhile...
The rest of its problems have been there for a year. I suppose they'll keep.
To: JenB; Corin Stormhands
Just so long as you don't wait seventeen years (or however long it was...) to pay him or her...
To: RosieCotton
Decide when you want it looked at and we'll make the appt.

I've already paid her half; and since I'm getting away with paying less than $500 for the entire day's photography, the post-editing, everything, I feel guilty enough without stiffing her. Plus she's a starving college student.
Thank goodness for craiglist, it was amazing.

It's due for an oil change in about a week and a half. I could have them top off all the fluids then and see if it really needs anything more.
I'd still like to go up to the beach at some point, but if it's a nearly free excursion...so much the better...
To: RosieCotton
Sounds like a nice small project to start with, and let them then check the brakes and your hoses and other mechanical things that might need to be done and you can take those on as needed.
