Weather Channel seems pretty sure it will bend north and pass well East of Bermuda, but you can never be sure with these things. Couple of years ago, one went into west Florida, went north & crossed the Appalachians, entered the Atlantic, came south, and crossed Florida back into the Gulf!
Heh...my brother's working through that. His fiance wanted to take a break before the last few - she couldn't take the drama.
When does the next season start?
They'll eat chipmunks. But...just fair warning...they aren't "delectably beautiful".
Sorry 'bout that.
Season 2 of Lost will be out on DVD in September.
Yeah...but I'm wondering when Season 3 starts. Is that usually right after the DVDs for the previous season are released?
I dunno. I refuse to try to keep up with anything other than "24."
No kidding. If that's what priests have to put up with in a confessional, I feel bad for 'em!
Hopefully Steve will hear something from Williams today. He emailed them yesterday, just inquiring about it and telling them he was still interested.
He hasn't heard a word from OSU either, even though he supposedly graduated at the end of July! I finally called the Registrar's office and asked. The lady said "He won't get his diploma for a couple of months. I said yes, I understood that, but he *did* actually graduate, right? The lady said, I kid you not...she said "I don't know." She suggested we call the Graduate college, so Steve did and they said, "It'll take a couple of months to get your diploma." Steve says "So I *did* actually graduate?" Their reply? "We did everything we were supposed to do...we'll have to wait and see." Heh...I knew that was gonna be real informative.
We could care less about the diploma, you know? Ha! Weird. Seems like to me they would send him a note or something at least saying "Get the he** outta here!"
I'm not sure when season 3 starts, but I hope it's at least a week after Season 2 comes out on DVD so we have enough time to catch up.
The RoseBears will know. :-D
"LOST" will start it's new season on October 4th. "Prison Break" started on Monday, August 21st, and it was excellent!! LSA
Still haven't seen that show...my brother's hooked on it, though.
*sigh* agin.
Yah, we're getting new brakes on the van today...
And I hear ya on spending big bucks on an older vehicle. I hated the money we poured into Jr's car last month. But right now, for him, that's the only option.
I want a transporter.
How much is a full brake work-over, do you know? On average?
With that and possibly some hoses to replace and all the other little things they'd be bound to find...I wonder what I'd be getting into. Considering the last repairs didn't *sound* all that pricey...but I'm still paying 'em off...I worry.
Transporter'd be good.
Barring that, something as dependable and cheap to fix as my Corolla would be nice, but with a little more height and power, preferably. Only that costs.
And I feel like I owe some loyalty to this van. It did get me a long way. I just hate stuff that doesn't work, and my instinct is to run away. ;-)
I've got no real clue on the pricing. Depends on what all would need to be done.
You need to figure out what you can do. But don't ignore the break issue. Either go ahead and bite the bullet and have it fixed, or start considering a different vehicle.
Vansama's a grownup. He'll understand.
Heh...
I guess I'll have to wait and see what is said when I take it in. I'm not sure what dollar amount is the limit for me.
And I'll have to figure where to take it. Don't know which places are good here.
Is it me or does nothing seem to be working well today? I mean, my Yahoo egroups have been messing up and now this off and on business with FR...
Hmmmm...maybe the world really *did* end yesterday!
Speaking of which, a guy from Steve's work gave him a video about the Tribulation. I put it in the VCR and started watching it with Steve. At one point, he got up and went into the kitchen and right then, in the movie, came the Rapture. I yelled at Steve "Hey! You missed the Rapture!" He stuck his head around and said "How do *you* know???"
Heh heh!!!
Not to mention winter! I've never had a desire to ride a scooter, even just for fun.
Because they often are :~)
I'm a little at a loss on a really good local place to recommend, any of them are only as good as they guy you know who works there. If you're willing to drive it to Gig Harbor there is a mechanic there that we trust completely. We take our trucks to him, in fact, I'm under strict orders not to take the blue truck anywhere else, even for oil changes :~D)
Do you have any days-off built up? We could have dad make an appointment one day, and drive up there, hang out at the beach while it's being worked on.
One thing I've some experience with is that brakes are not one of the things it pays to wait on to repair. If you have an issue with brake wear, if you wait too long to replace brake pads or shoes, you end up having to replace the disk too because it gets ground down. And that can get expensive.
Gary's Tire (and Automotive, they're a complete repair shop in back) in Lacey always gave me great service, but I used to know the mechanic there. I don't know the guys there now.
That's an option. And you could always ask 'em if they're Catholic.
...and single.
