Yeah, but she never gets it on with the good guys. Otis does...he's got an awful purty mouth.

"I'll also admit to a secret crush on Betty Cooper." As long as we're going all "Stand By Me," and discussing the relative merits of comic-book females, I always preferred Supergirl and old-school Black Cat. You have to give the latest screen incarnation of Mystique some kind of credit. But were she and Famke Janssen ever lame at the MTV VMA recently. They both ought to simply stick to action instead of trying to act.

You know, comics have been pretty kinky for a long time. I remember when I was a kid thinking I was the only person who got a kick out of this.

Oh yeah. It has the most wrong Superman cover ever on it.

There were some word balloons on the original cover explaining why Superman was taking his clothes off in front of a face-down crying boy, but I don't think there's any way this was accidental.

"He's an alien, for Christ sake. His Kyrptonian biological makeup is enhanced by earth's yellow sun. If Lois gets a tan the kid could kick right through her stomach. Only someone like Wonder Woman has a strong enough uterus to carry his kid. The only way he could bang regular chicks is with a kryptonite condom. That would kill him. "

LOL! Thanks for the ping, I just read the other day that he was from Bayonne, it was in the Jersey Journal mentioning that he had been a presenter at the Tonys.

I have to admit, I've never seen him in a bad performance. Kevin Spacey is the best Kevin Spacey impersonator I've ever seen.
Pity that's his favorite role.
Weird... I was just having this conversation the other day with a co-worker. I said almost the same thing. That he can be a good actor, but I'm always acutely aware that it's Kevin Spacey playing the role. There are some actors who are able to completely lose themselves in a role, where they "become" the person they're protraying. There aren't really all that many actors around today who really excell at this, but 2 examples that come to mind include Morgan Freeman and Ian McKellan.
On the other hand, Kevin Spacey is an awesome character impersonator. Did you (or anyone else) see the episode of "Saturday Night Live" where they did spoofs of Star Wars screen tests. His Walter Mathau had me rolling on the floor... "What the hell's a Wookie?!?!?"

I maybe wrong, but this is supposed to take place after the first two movies ('78 and the one after) and ignores the last ones (starting with Richard Pryor's "computer hacker" one), so it it might not be too bad.
I'm kind of like you though - I prefer to leave it to when I was a kid and reading the comic books, but I dunno, lately they seemed to have figured out that if they take it kind of seriously the movies can standalone (X-Men, Spiderman, Batman, F4, etc.) and do quite well at the box-office. Of course, then they lose some of the "magic" of the comics (or it's just me getting older).

Superman?I heard that it's more like "Sssuperman", if you get what I mean.

I find that Morgan Freeman always plays pretty much the same guy. The wise older black man. He does it well, but never really seems to branch out from that.
I think Johnny Depp is a great actor. His original characters are great, but he is one of the better impersonators I have ever seen. He nailed both Hunter S. Thompson and George Jung in movies. Watching the bonus features on Blow it is pretty creepy how similar he gets to Jung except for some differences in their faces that makeup couldn't change they were the same. He had nailed every thing else.

I especially liked Superman II - General Zod rocked.
Then you'll be pleased to know that he's running for the 2008 presidency.
General Zod's 2008 Presidential Run link! From his site:
"When I first came to your planet and demanded your homes, property and very lives, I didn't know you were already doing so, willingly, with your own government. I can win no tribute from a bankrupted nation populated by feeble flag-waving plebians. In 2008 I shall restore your dignity and make you servants worthy of my rule. This new government shall become a tool of my oppression. Instead of hidden agendas and waffling policies, I offer you direct candor and brutal certainty. I only ask for your tribute, your lives, and your vote.
