ENEMIES
Sunday's sermon was---Forgive Your Enemies.
Toward the end of the service, the Minister asked,
"How many of you have forgiven your enemies?"
80% held up their hands.
The Minister then repeated his question. All responded this time,
except one small elderly lady.
Mrs. Jones?"; "Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"
"I don't have any." She replied, smiling sweetly.
"Mrs. Jones, that is very unusual. How old are you?"
"Ninety-eight." she replied.
"Oh Mrs. Jones, would you please come down in front and
tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years and not
have an enemy in the world?"
The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, faced the
congregation, and said:
"I outlived the bitches."
Whippin' Post
Frank and Dweezil Zappa did a cover of that years ago, instrumentals were awesome!!!
I been run down, I been lied to,
I dont know why I let that mean woman make me a fool.
She took all my money, wrecked my new car.
Now shes with one of my goodtime buddies,
Theyre drinkin in some crosstown bar.
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Like I been tied to the whipping post,
Tied to the whipping post,
Tied to the whipping post,
Good lord, I feel like Im dyin.
My friends tell me, that Ive been such a fool,
And I have to stand by and take it baby, all for lovin you.
Drown myself in sorrow, and I look at what youve down.
But nothin seems to change, the bad times stay the same,
And I cant run.
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Like I been tied to the whipping post
Tied to the whipping post,
Tied to the whipping post,
Good lord, I feel like Im dyin.
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Like I been tied to the whipping post
Tied to the whipping post,
Tied to the whipping post,
Good lord, I feel like Im dyin.

Hey, it's the blues!!!
Ive been down hearted baby
Ever since the day we met
I said ive been down hearted baby
Ever since the day we met
Our love is nothing but the blues
Baby, how blue can you get?
Youre evil when im with you, baby
And youre jealous when were apart
I said youre evil when im with you, baby
And youre jealous when were apart
How blue can you get baby
The answer is right here in my heart
I gave you a brand new ford
But you said: i want a cadillac
I bought you a ten dollar dinner
And you said: thanks for the snack
I let you live in my pent house
You said it just a shack
I gave seven children
And now you wanna give them back
I said ive been down hearted baby
Ever since the day we met
Our love is nothing but the blues
Baby, how blue can you get?
- B B King
Dont think I know that tune - or maybe if I heard it.....
Just glancing through my tunes folder for the 70's stuff I have:
America, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Bad Company, Chicago, Doobie Brothers, ELO, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Jackson Browne, The Kinks, Zeppelin, Leon Russell, Marshall Tucker, Molly Hatchet, Neil Young, Steve Miller, Van Halen, Van Morrison, ZZ Top, Yes, The Who
I am seriously stuck in the 70's - LOL.
The Allman Brothers covered that too! :-)
You have way too much time on your hands!
Well,
That may explain why I don't listen to it :) ;)
