Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

How to word it, I wonder? The explanation for resending, that is.

I'd say something like this:
I am sorry to have originally sent an incorrect draft of my resume in response to your job opening.
I am very interested in this position and hope you will accept ~this~ complete and correct version instead of the original email sent _____.
Thank you

~smiles~ thanks...
I did job application and resume stuff for a long time...
I think the plainer the wording the better... I'd ~almost~ risk being cute and have 'OOPs' in the subject line. Depends on how formal the job is... they are just people at the other end. They'll understand.

Well, it's done. Here's what I said (I used your wording as part of it!):
Hello,
This is rather embarrassing (particularly coming from a computer
tech!), but I realized after I had sent my resume and reference
information that I had sent an older copy of the file with several
errors.
I am very interested in this position and hope you will accept this
complete and correct version instead of the original email sent
2/23/05.
I thoroughly apologize for the inconvenience!
Thank you for your time,

That's great!
Heh... this would have been funny:
P.S. On my resume, I have replaced all references to being "detail oriented" with "Has follow-through to find and correct errors" ;~D

I think that sounds good! I am sure they'll understand...
If I ever get done with this meeting I'll go home and send you some pictures...

If I'm lucky, it doesn't lose me any points and instead means they read it over carefully again.
Heh...yeah, that'd be funny. ;-)
Maybe tomorrow I'll get a note back saying they received it. Hope so. I'd like at least that.

No, thank you for the excuse to go up on the roof! That was super cool.
