Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Wouldn't that be fun! Every girl needs a pony. :~D
Good morning.....
We got home in the wee hours of the morning and I am not yet on enough sleep...... took movie up and watched it with Ramius at the beach house, and then a few of the features.
We want to grow corn in containers by the gate next summer. Just a few.... Better than tomatos :~D
I love the one on the horses.... Brought me to tears it did.... But then so did the one with all the goodbyes! :~D
I guess I am more awake than the rest of the thread.
Honey... you funkled!
I know.... I'm so dreadfully embarrassed.
Maybe if they all just hum it that would be OK.
Glad you made it home safely! Yeah, I was having trouble getting on about the same time. Gave up and worked on my house plan.
We're supposed to get some of that snow this evening. It's not going to start until 9pm or so, so that won't keep us from making it to 5:30 Mass.
Best throw another log on the fire; we go from single digits to 40's in a day or so and then repeat.
'planting corn' hmmm. are you planning to roast it, pop it or distill it?
OT; you got 'the recipe'?
Ive been to Pittsburg...it is a very pretty city!
Howdy woman!!! How are you!?
How are things around the block? lol
Yep, we've got bouncing temperatures here, too. High tomorrow: 5. Currently 34, and it's supposed to be almost 40 on Wednesday. Weird stuff!
Hmm let me think. I misposted the amount of ingredients. Let me fix it.
6 beaten egg yolks
2 cups milk
1/3 cup sugar (or splenda)
1/2 cup light rum
1/2 cup bourbon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup whipping cream
2 tablespoons sugar (or splenda)
Ground nutmeg
First you wll separate the yolks from the whites and beat the yolks. In a saucepan on medium heat you are going to mix together (stirring constantly) the egg yolks, 1/3 c. sugar and the 2 c. milk until it coats the back of a spoon.
Once it coats the back of a spoon, remove from heat, and place the pan in a sink or bowl of ice and stir for 2 minutes. Add the vanilla, bourbon, and rum while stirring. Then cover and chill for about 4 hours.
When you are ready to serve, beat the whipping cream and the 2 tbps sugar until you get soft peaks. This is where you get out the nice serving bowl and transfer your chilled 'nog. It's almost ready. Fold in the whipping cream, and it is ready. Sprinkle the nutmeg on the top of each serving.
typos... I really need to remember to proof before posting.
you wouldnt happen to have a recipe for something called Italian pralines..or pine-nut pralines with candied orange peel? I saw the recipe on Molto Mario some years back but I lost the recipe I printed up from his site. I looked for it in his archives and its not there!
~waves~
Oh that sounds delish! I've never made homemade Egg Nog. I gots all the stuff, I may do some when the snow starts falling tonight!
