Presidential Message: Christmas 2003 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Luke 2:14
As families and friends gather to celebrate Christmas, we
remember all the blessings that fill our lives, beginning
with the great blessing that came on a holy night in
Bethlehem. For Christians around the world, the birth of
Jesus is a central religious event; an example of God's
profound love for humanity; and the pathway to hope and to
new life. Today, the Christmas story still speaks to every
generation.
This holiday season, as we share in the spirit of giving
and enjoy familiar Christmas traditions, we give thanks for
the wonder of God's love and rededicate ourselves to
helping those in need. We also pray for our brave men and
women in uniform, many of whom will spend the holidays far
from home. Their courage and dedication is helping keep us
safe and extending freedom and peace. We are grateful for
their service to our country, and for the support and
sacrifice of their families.
Laura joins me in wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy
New Year. May the peace and goodwill of the season fill
every heart and warm every home.

Sounded weird enough for me to attempt to write lyrics for it, but I trashed them after they turned weird.

Christmas Choice
Read: Matthew 2:1-12
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. Matthew 2:10
Bible In One Year: 2 John, 3 John, Jude
The glitter of bright decorations, the sound of joyous Christmas carols, the happy children, and the cheerful "Merry Christmas" greetings sometimes give the impression that everybody is glad that Jesus came to our planet. But that isn't true today, and it never was.
The news of Jesus' birth evoked a mixed reaction. The wise men joyfully welcomed and worshiped the Savior (Matthew 2:10-11). But King Herod was so troubled when he heard about it that he tried to find and kill the baby Jesus (vv.3-4,16). Most people, however, were unaware of the significance of what had happened.
Still today, multitudes honor Jesus and rejoice in their salvation. But many others hate Him. They grumble about the singing of Christmas carols in shopping malls and the display of nativity scenes in public places. Others are apathetic. They go along with the celebration of the season. They may join in singing Christmas carols, but they never ask themselves who Jesus is or why He came. They don't think of their need to believe on Him and receive Him as their Savior.
Are you among the indifferent? To ignore Him and His claims is to reject Him. Christmas demands a decision about Christ. The choice is yours. Herb Vander Lugt
What will you do with Jesus?
Neutral you cannot be;
Someday your heart will be asking,
"What will He do with me?" Simpson
If you make room for Jesus in your heart, He will make room for you in heaven.

We want to take this opportunity to wish you all a blessed Christmas - especially to those of you for whom Christmas brings a tinge or perhaps a bucket-full of sadness this year.
The sun will rise and set this Christmas day and things in the physical world will be no different than they would be on any other day. Yet, because of the special nature of Christmas celebrations in our hearts, traditions and memories, December 25th comes with buckets of hopes, dreams, and expectations.
Some of your buckets will be filled as expected - family will visit, meals will be shared, and happiness will flow. For others of you, your day will be less than all who love you, including myself, would wish for you. My heart goes out to all who face this Christmas without a loved one due to distance, imprisonment, family fighting, war, sickness, death, because they are missing, or any of the many other things that life throws our way.
Whatever your Christmas brings and wherever it finds you, it is my sincere hope and prayer to God that the inner light and peace that comes from personal faith in Jesus will be renewed in you again - or realized for the first time.
Jesus is the reason to celebrate Christmas - not just because we are happy but because God became man and was born of a virgin in Bethlehem. He did so to live a perfect life and ultimately die on the cross so we could be forgiven for our sins - the same sins that are in fact the source of humankind's sorrows at Christmas time and throughout the year.
And so whether your tears this Christmas are of happiness, of sorrow, or a mixture of both, may God's richest blessing be upon you all as you celebrate Jesus birth.
Your Friends,
Dub & Eve

What a lovely post Dubya. So true that this day can be either joyful, painful, or in between, but one thing is always true. Jesus is the reason for Christmas, and that gets lost sometimes in all of the preparations, gifts, and just general hectic bustle of the season!
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Merry Christmas to you and JK Mama_Bear! You should know that your peanut brittle was a bit hit at our Christmas Eve get together last night! I even told the truth and didn't take credit for making it! :-)
Part of Chads and my happiness is knowing you and JK and all of the great friends we have made in our Fresno group! Have a wonderful day!
