CBS: DOGE Is Going to Get You Eaten by Bears
NewsBusters ^ | February 26, 2025 | Jorge Bonilla

The Musk-Deranged and DOGE-Deranged media appear to have stumbled on a new genre of coverage: the horrendous fate that will befall Americans due to DOGE cuts across multiple federal agencies. Reaching a new height of absurdity, CBS’s Ian Lee leads viewers to infer that DOGE cuts will lead people to be eaten by bears.

Watch as Lee walks viewers to an empty ranger station at Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming:
.
.
LEE: I spoke with several senior Forest Service officials across the country, and they told me the future leadership of the agency has been wiped out, and it could take decades to recover. Another warned that some of these workers monitored bear populations and without them, there could be more encounters.

Essentially, I like animals better than people. They never lie, are always who they they are. . Park service jerks can go suck rocks.

Usually 38 Special , then up to .357 to make sure the practice holds. Foam plugs plus ear muffs.

As I’ve explained here before, my practice is to put on my daypack and chest rig for the Ruger, run around the empty parking lot until winded, run up to the line, spin three times until dizzy, and drop 4 of 6 7” steel plates at 25 yards. That’s as close to real world as I can get.

So that’s why Trump got the bear vote. I knew it wasn’t altruism. What would we do without CBS to reveal the Make America Grizzly Again movement?

Simple solution is to stay out of any area where you are not top of the food chain.

You know the old saying . . .

It will kill your dog.

If it’s a grizzly, .357 magnum might not be enough.

I’m sure the bear appreciated your thoughtfulness for his dining experience.

Any time you visit Yellowstone, you have to be vigilant about the wildlife. I've seen grizzlies and wolves many times. Always lots of bison and elk. Any of them can get you and there won't be a ranger nearby to "save" you. It's just a bunch of fear mongering government employees whining about job cuts.

Yes, I provided Grey Poupon, A-1 Sauce, and Tony Chachere’s. And some fava beans.

Recent Park Service personnel tend to be heavy with neo-pagan anti-humans.

If Kamala won, we would be eating the bears.

Good post. I was just thinking the same thing. No matter how many rangers are lurking around the forest, it's highly unlikely one will arrive in the nick of time -- just like in the movies! -- to save you from a bear attack. They're mainly around to watch for fire, perform maintenance, and deal with rowdy campers drinking their "wilderness adventure."

My state, like many, has both state as well as federal foresters on the job, along with seasonal fire crews and support staff. A reduction in employees isn't a cause for panic, unless you're CBS working, as ever, to alarm the snowflake populace.

Not very long, but, then, governments are pretty good at getting a lot of people killed too...

.357 Mag in Buffalo Bore Outdoorsman hardcast is proven to drill a 4.5 foot hole through Mr. Bear before it stops.

He’ll most likely break off the attack when that hits him. If it hits vitals, he’ll be dead, after he mauls you if he doesn’t break off the attack. If it hits bone, that portion of his body will be useless.

44 Mag goes something like 6 feet under similar conditions. So I’m giving up the last 1.5 feet of penetration. Since most shots are head to tail on a charging bear, I’ll certainly penetrate the front half where most of the important stuff resides.

My wife wouldn’t be happy if I brought home yet another gun. So I’ll carry the .357. It is highly likely to work as well as .44 Mag in most circumstances.

I’ve run into Griz 8 times in Yellowstone, Glacier and their vicinities. Worst was the first, came around a sharp corner on a hiking trail and ran into Mama and baby Griz at 50 feet. She didn’t attack, so I can tell about it.

Always hike with a slow liberal. That way both you and the bear go home with a grin.

That’s what revolvers chambered in calibers beginning with the number “4” are for. .41 Magnum and up.
