Research Finds Men Who Own Guns Have Greater Sexual Satisfaction

Recent research shows a significant correlation between the possession of guns and a man’s satisfaction with his sexual equipment.

A common fantasy thrown at male gun owners is they are using guns as “compensation” for an undersized penis or sexual disfunction. This speculation has long been a staple of those seeking to discredit the ownership of firearms. This earlier paper gives an overview of the psychosexual insult and its use.

In 2016, an editorial in HuffPost argued that “the compulsion to own firearms stems from an unconscious need to compensate for a deep-seated psychological sense of insecurity and inadequacy in terms of power: in males, specifically for having a small or smaller-than-desired penis” (Blumenfeld, 2016). In 2020, John Cleese, a famous comedian, quipped on Twitter that “the British are proud that they DON’T [emphasis in original] need a gun to make themselves feel manly” and that Americans need “assault weapons” to “keep ED [erectile dysfunction] away” (Smith, 2020).

In a recent paper, researchers decided to test the theory with actual data. The collection of the data was funded by a group that desires to disarm the American population. From newatlas.com:

The researchers disclosed that data collection for the study was financially supported by the organization Change the Ref, whose mission is “Shifting America’s social response to gun violence by uniting creativity, activism, disruption, and education.” The researchers state that although Change the Ref has a clear anti-gun stance, it played no role in the planning or implementation of the study.

The study was published in the American Journal of Men’s Health.

I had to look up sigma male. It seems that he’s just a more successful alpha male. In other words, a new and improved alpha male. All an alpha has to do to become a sigma is become successful. A wildly successful beta behaves like a whinny woman.

I enjoy shooting guns at the range and enjoy shooting my gun in bed, so maybe they are correct.

Actually it’s the women of men who own guns who have even greater sexual satisfaction.

Ask Mrs L how she knows.

That’s just common sense.

It’s much easier to have more sex partners when you’re armed.

That’s not at all what a sigma is.

Vox Day coined the term.

Go look up his blog Sigma Game for more.

We desperately need more AMs in HR or other execs man enough to say NO to the insane women that gravitate there.

Agreed. Jim Thompson running HR beats the usual suspects hands down.

As you probably found out, sigma males are loners and independent thinkers. I don't think alpha males can become sigma males.

Alpha males need people they can dominate. Sigma males are a entirely different breed of cat.

That leaves our corporations largely being led by the human equivalent of sheep

Men with a handshake like a sweaty marshmallow ... 16 years working for a large corporation so I had plenty of handshaking experience.

Well, guns will do that for you, and if you get a woman involved, it is even better.

“Alpha males need people they can dominate. Sigma males are a entirely different breed of cat.”

I’ve always considered myself an alpha male. When a situation develops where a leader is needed, usually in the workplace, I waited until it was obvious no one would step up. Then I took over. If there was a titular manager, who had no clue, then I’d say things like, “Do you think we ought to run an endurance test to determine whether the product has a high failure rate?” They invariably would agree as whatever I suggested was a good path forward. I do not want to lead, but I won’t be part of just foundering around and not succeeding.

I was as successful in my working career as much as management would allow. I have been far more successful since retirement as my present business is my fourth company. Am I a sigma? Maybe. But the vast majority of my male friends are alpha males. We get along great. I don’t feel dominated, nor do I dominate.

The left wing insult that gun ownership is compensation for sexual disfunction was just a taunt. It was never studied. Like wise its cousin that males that object to gays are suffer homosexual panic. We could easily make unflattering judgements about the sex lives of promiscuous liberals.

You sound more like a sigma in that you don't want to dominate nor will you be dominated.

On top of that, you sound like the perfect kind of leader...one who doesn't want to lead or be a leader but will do so because you feel a sense of obligation to do the right thing.

I’ve found range time to be relaxing. Zeroing in one of those new fangled red dot sights or seeing just how fast I can pull the trigger on a semi auto shot gun with a 20 round drum. Or simply seeing just how good my .308 is over 100 yards. Or figuring out which is more accurate a 55 grain or 62 grain.

The main thing about range time is weapons familiarity. Having some idea how the thing works when it’s needed could be the difference between life and death.

And none of this has anything at all to do with sex. Conservatism, yes, sex, hell no.

Later today I will be experimenting with 12 gauge self defense loads. And there will be no orgasms at all at the range.
