I had to look up sigma male. It seems that he’s just a more successful alpha male. In other words, a new and improved alpha male. All an alpha has to do to become a sigma is become successful. A wildly successful beta behaves like a whinny woman.

As you probably found out, sigma males are loners and independent thinkers. I don't think alpha males can become sigma males.
Alpha males need people they can dominate. Sigma males are a entirely different breed of cat.
