WTF is wrong with these companies?

Black Rock (BR) owns 12% of Cracker Barrel. BR is also the world's largest money manager of government pension funds. Libtard states and cities invest trillions of dollars with BR. They tell BR if you want our money -- and the billions of dollars in money management fees -- then your officers and directors must have people who are progressive and will push progressive policies. BR then uses its shareholder stake and influence to insert progressive officers and directors into the companies they own, and they in turn destroy the companies by giving the middle finger to their conservative customer base.

I think I've been to one once when traveling with my parents. Guess it will only ever be once. There is no shortage of small mom and pop restaurants for the rare occasion I have extra money to waste on having my food cooked and served to me.

Just got a leg of lamb from Aldi for $8/lb. Yummy. Seems Aldi is going down a certain path now though. Guess there's an Aldi in the UK where you can't even get in the door unless you have their app.

The grocer is operating a "trial" store in Greenwich, London, which allows customers to complete their shop and pay without going to a till.

Instead, customers can download the Aldi Shop&Go app, and will then be automatically charged for their purchases once they leave the store.

Aldi's new store follows similar moves by Tesco, Sainsbury's and Amazon.

The supermarket's new site will also allow customers to buy alcohol, using facial-age estimation technology, to check whether they appear to be over the age of 25.

People who cannot or choose not to use this system can have their age verified by a member of staff.

A series of hi-tech cameras will track customers as they do their shopping, and then bill them when they leave.

App only. High tech cameras watching your every move. No thanks.

I may end up only shopping for food at the local Amish place for produce and a local farmer for grass fed beef and pasture raised pork & poultry.

I'm also working on a high tunnel this weekend and will be able to grow something year round. Thinking about getting some hair sheep at some point so I can grow my own legs of lamb.

If they want financing options they must meet certain CEI/DEI scores.

Want to open a new store? Want to finance it? Uh no, but instantiate DEI policies and celebrate Pride and your score will go up.

“On another thread, it was reported that Black Rock and Vanguard, left leaning investment firms, owned 27% of the restaurant chain. If that is true, that probably explains why Cracker Barrel has gone pro-pervert. It certainly isn’t a wise marketing decision because few of their customers are either limousine liberals or hipster types.”

It is true. See Post No. 21 re: Black Rock.

As for Vanguard, it is owned by the mutual funds that it manages and the mutual funds are owned by their shareholders. Vanguard’s largest shareholders are government run pension funds from ultra-blue states and cities. If Vanguard wants their money — and fees — then they have to promote lefty ideology.

Shame, Cracker Barrel was usually a good stop on long road trips (quality of food, price, etc.). There’s other restaurants...

I stopped eating there about a year ago. Their food has become terrible and expensive. Its the same menu, just left food on the plate and either over or under cooked. The chain will now cease to exist.

Why is it so hard to just STFU?

Now you’ve forced your customers to make a political declaration if favor of perversion just to get some breakfast.

Who TF thinks this is a good idea?

Welp...if this is real...thats a bummer. I wonder if the CB in Decatur and Hartselle, Alabama will be hurt by this corporate BS. Lotta CB’s out thissa way. Essentially NO one in this area is sided with the woke liberal left agenda. Owners should rename their franchises “Over-a-Barrel”.

...not realizing we were selling the Marxists the rope...

The 45 goals for the takeover of the United States were read into the Congressional Record by an ex-KGB colonel in 1980. They've all been realized. We had plenty of advanced warning. But the band played on.

Farmers markets are the best place to get food.

We sell Lamb, chicken and pork.

You’ll pay more, for sure. But it’s the best quality, and most flavorful meat you’ll ever have.

“In 2019, the company announced it would not permit Grayson Fritts, a Knox County, Tennessee cop and pastor at All Scripture Baptist Church who has called for the execution of LGBTQ people, to hold an event in one of its restaurants.”

So CB went as far as to not welcome a law enforcement officer who called for summary executions of a portion of their employees, customers and shareholders?

This is ridiculous. Why won’t these companies stand up for themselves instead of caving to a small minority of people who want the rest of us to celebrate their sexual choices? Good gravy when will they just leave things alone and leave us alone? I am sick to death of the LGBTQXYZ activists always in our faces about their sexual lives?

There is no morality to capitalism. It will serve the needs and desires of the customer, whatever his political leanings.
