CNN apparently can’t get its talking points in order after wantonly lecturing people to “chill” with the recession talk back in February.
CNN’s May 2 headline didn't mince words about the current precarious state of America’s economy. “Why a US recession is probably coming,” the headline read. That’s the exact opposite of what the same outlet pushed nearly three months prior. “It’s time to chill with all the recession talk,” read the competing Feb. 6 CNN headline. Make up your mind, CNN.
In February, CNN broke out the proverbial champagne to celebrate President Joe Biden’s inflation-rattled economy: “[I]n the (slightly) brighter light of 2023, it looks as if the optimists — those who called inflation 'transitory' and believed the Fed could pull off a so-called soft landing — were right all along.” CNN was adamant that the “The labor market is just not giving up. And that makes it hard, if not impossible, to imagine a recession anytime soon.” That perspective only had a shelf life of just shy of three months.

CNN isn’t the only outlet doing this. Turn on Bloomberg, CNBC and FoxBusiness everyday and get gaslit.
Why indeed. All the measures needed to tame the “transitory inflation” is beating the crap out of the economy. But we still insist ok spending money we do not have - so the entire process is being dragged out. Now the writing is on the wall for even the dishonest MSM.
For a clue, look at bank stocks today. And turn off cable news!

That’s interesting because CNN said we were heading to a recession in the summer of 2019, only because the yield curve was inverted. I wonder what has changed?

On the first date, Commissar Rachel Nuttley became communist leader of Alberta. Though defeated and replaced by a ‘CONservative’ gubmint on April 30, 2019 in Alberta, Justin Castreau has been dictator in chief of Canaduh since November 4, 2015. We remain in a massive depression.

Individuals and families have way too much debt, no savings and no survival skills. A lot of pain is on the way and too many think this is a game. Our society is far from being the polite society it once was. If the economy goes south in a big way I see a lot of unrest in our future.
“...unrest...” is putting it mildly.
